Garage Kept Motors is pleased to present this clean 1965 Pontiac
LeMans GTO 2-Door Hardtop Coupe that has been owned by the same man
since 1982. He also new the previous owner who had the car since
1972. The vehicle was built in Pontiac, MI and was ordered new in
West Michigan. It has PHS documentation and many desirable options
from that ear.
First off, the car is powered by the original, numbers matching
389ci/360hp 3x2bbl V8, which was completely rebuilt in 1996. At the
same time, it had a frame-off restoration and was finished in the
original Capri Gold Metallic (code T) paint over Black Bucket seat
(Cod 213-B) interior. Also in 1996, the original transmission was
replaced by a period correct M21 4-Speed from a 1968 Camaro. Other
noteworthy factory features included a Radio, Rear Seat Speaker,
Underhood Lamp, Windshield Washer with Dual Speed Wipers, Dual
Exhaust Splitters, Instrument Panel Pad, Mirror Inside Title and
Outside Remote Control, Deluxe Wheel Discs, Interior Lamps, Rally
Gauge Cluster and Tachometer, Custom Sports Steering Wheel,
Console, Retractor Seatbelts, Transistor Ignition System, and
Safe-T-Track Rear Axle.
The 4-Speed 1965 GTO with the 6.5L Tri-Power was one of the first
true muscle cars and set the industry standard for years to come.
This was the final year the car was a trim package of the LeMans
before becoming its own model altogether in 1966. We love the
LeMans GTO for its simplicity, cutting edge power and stylish front
clip. This example is no exception. You will be hard pressed to
find another one thats been owned by the same person for over 35
years. It has truly been cared for and appreciated. We are hoping
the next owner enjoys it the same. Be sure to check out all the
photos and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors. Call if
interested or e-mail with any questions. Thank you for looking.
