Vehicle Description
True #s matching, documented big block SS. Has the original window
sticker, protect-o-plate and literature. This is an unmolested,
very original and authentic Chevelle. We sold this car 3 years ago
and that new owner made several improvements. The car is dialed in
very nicely.
EXTERIOR: It still has all of it's original sheet metal, how often
do you find that in a Chevelle? The body is completely straight,
fits nice. Even the problem area between front of hood and
headlight bezels fit nice. Doors open and shut like new. It was
repainted only once and that was exterior only. Jambs are still
very nice original. Beautiful factory Classic Copper metallic is
accented great with white stripes and top. The paint has a smooth
glossy finish from the bottom up. Stripes painted correctly. Vinyl
top, windshield, weatherstrips, wheel well trim, bumpers are new.
Has factory SS wheels with reproduction Polyglass GT Goodyear
tires. The exterior of this car is show quality.
INTERIOR: Also show quality. The recent owner went through the
interior and made it new. Front seats were upholstered and new
cushions. The carpets and door panels have been replaced. Dash area
is extra clean With a couple nice upgrades- Dakota Digital
electronic/analog gauge cluster with tachometer and a retro stereo.
(Original radio and gauges are included). The heater controls slide
nice, interior and glovebox lights work. Everything is extra nice-
vents, knobs, kick panels, steering wheel, seat belts, mirror,
console etc.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Very neat, tidy and proper engine compartment.
Vin # matched 402 big block. (To clarify any confusion, the GM 396
was made slightly larger in 1971 to a 402, but was labeled a 400).
Correct carb is completely restored. It is upgraded with HEI
ignition. Exhaust manifolds were ceramic coated. Upgraded valve
covers and air cleaner (originals are included). All the metal is a
smooth black satin finish. It still has the original pollution,
equipment, washer bottle is hooked up. The jamb is the original
copper paint from the factory, underside of the hood is satin black
with new insulation.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Original spatter paint from the factory is in
excellent shape. That also verifies the 1/4 panels are original.
How often do you see that in an SS. Has a matching SS wheel for a
spare and the original jack. The paint in the jamb and bottom of
trunk lid is original from the factory. Even the original jacking
instructions decal is still there. Also included are several boxes
of original parts taken off this car.
UNDERSIDE: Has vin # matched M-20 4-speed. New $500 Hurst shift
linkage. Factory F-41 suspension which includes boxed control arms
and sway bars. Original 12 bolt posi rear, fresh fluid and posi
additive. Disc brakes in front. Has new shocks and springs. Floors
are very solid original. Bottom of motor and trans are spotless.
Has emergency brake cables still in tact, front end components look
good. Real nice stainless 2 1/2 inch exhaust with Flowmaster
mufflers.
Clean and honest big block, 4-speed Chevelle that has been detailed
and dialed in. Rare opportunity with so many clones and rebuilt
cars on the market!
