Vehicle Description
Originality has its privileges. When owners take the time to care
for a vehicle over many decades, purchasing it can feel like
joining a brotherhood. This 1986 Chevrolet K-10 Silverado is a cool
classic 4x4 looking for its next guardian of history.
It's believed that just about everything you see on this truck is
original. That means the red paint, full Silverado trim, and even
details like the bright chrome bumpers. So it really has an
impressive look - after all, most of these 4x4 needed work because
they were used as workhorses. Instead, this has averaged less than
2,150 miles annually. It isn't a prefect presentation, which is a
nice starter for telling people that they're looking at a survivor.
More than just it's history, this Silverado is attractive for what
it represents. The design is one of the toughest-looking tucks
ever. And that's amplified by the short bed and taller 4x4 stance.
Plus, you have bed rails, a thick rubber mat, and a proper trailer
hitch with electric hookup. So this preserved classic still knows
that Saturdays are sometimes reserved for chores.
The interior continues the red theme with two tones on the dash and
door panels for an attractive total package. This generation
Silverado almost felt like a sports car from behind the wheel.
After all, your full gauge package fully envelops you. Plus, it's
just a fingertip reach to features like the AM/FM/CD stereo and
provisions for air conditioning.
Under the hood is Chevy's famous 305 cubic-inch V8. The consignor
states this is the original motor for the truck, and it certainly
looks the part - right down to the jack still mounted on the inner
fender. Topped with a four-barrel carburetor, the V8 makes the
right power and torque to enjoy this 4x4 to the fullest. There have
also been a few nice improvements along the way, such as glasspacks
on the dual exhaust for a little extra growl, and newer Skyjacker
shocks for better 4x4 maneuvering. But more than just an off-road
machine, this is a great all around pickup. Power steering, front
disc brakes, and the four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive
are welcomed features no matter if you're on the street or trail.
Plus, the dual fuel tanks mean you can get further down the highway
or deeper into nature.
The sale come with good paperwork, including the dealer invoice,
owner's manual, and maintenance records. This is a classic truck
with a high degree of originality - and that only happens once. Are
