Vehicle Description
Outfitted with a special appearance that sets them apart from their
Corvette brethren and equipped with loads of brute strength, Z06s
picked up where their predecessor - the ZR-1 - left off, very ably
maintaining their position at the head of the class as far as both
looks and performance were concerned, as this 2001 Chevrolet
Corvette Z06 illustrates. It features a host of well-chosen
performance upgrades and comes with a clean AutoCheck report as
proof that, despite the obvious temptation for inspired driving it
presents, this Corvette has steered clear of any notable
collisions.
This Z06 has had the good fortune to have its original
configuration left intact and not be weighed down by an excess of
aftermarket ornamentation. With its sleek, aerodynamic exterior,
and smoothly contoured, functional side scoops, the Z06 was a
winner in the looks department from the time it left the assembly
line. Its exterior is clad in Quicksilver metallic paint that
provides a nice, understated look - this is a car that exudes
plenty of magic with no bells and whistles needed. Having logged
under 60,000 miles, clear glass still surrounds the cabin, and its
signature flip up headlights, so often an Achilles heel on
Corvettes over time, are functioning just as they should. That
unmistakable emblem gracing the hood is still nice and sharp, and
the quad tips of the special exhaust peeking out just the right
amount in back provides an unbeatable look.
Through the years, Chevy has equipped its American sports car with
some great looking interiors, and the one on display here combines
with some great additions to make for a very inspired driving
environment. The center console between the contoured black leather
bucket seats offers a Hurst short throw shifter that's sporting a
very distinctive oversized ball to provide a comfortable grip. Just
in front of it, a Pioneer Multi-media touchscreen has been
seamlessly installed and offers Navigation, AM/FM/CD/DVD along with
iPod, Satellite and Bluetooth connectivity, so you're not likely to
run out of audio options any time soon.
The engine compartment on this upper class 'Vette looks like it's
received plenty of attention to keep it looking its best, and at
its center sits a 5.7 liter LS1 V8. It was already a very capable
performer in factory trim and a number of well-chosen performance
mods, which include the addition of a Texas Speed Magic Stick 4
cam, a VARAM cold air induction kit and a BBK 80mm throttle body,
take its abilities to an even higher level. That added power hasn't
come at the expense of everyday drivability - this powerplant
starts up quickly and has an appealing lope that combines with a
great sounding exhaust note coming out through long tube headers
leading to its Borla mufflers to let onlookers know that even among
its fellow Z06s, this 'Vette is something special. The upgraded
engine teams with a 6-speed manual transmission that puts maximum
control of this street machine in the driver's hands. Precise and
responsive power steering combines with the Z06's low profile and
road hugging stance to provide outstanding handling, while
generously proportioned power disc brakes at all four corners
brings its super sharp black Cray wheels - 18" in front and 19" in
back - to prompt stops.
A sharp-looking performer that's running at its best, this 2001
Chevrolet Corvette Z06 would be an outstanding centerpiece of any
enthusiast's garage. Call today!
