I call him Poncho Villa. He's a red hot chili pepper wagon
sporting a big block motor, restomods, serious attitude and space
for a 40 quart cooler and momma's luggage. Enough to survive the
power tour in style.
It's a 1970 Pontiac Lemans Safari station wagon. This is not your
mother's grocery getter; its a GTO in disguise.
It's no secret, station wagons are the rage; we've all been
jonesing for one and there is serious merit in opting for an
American muscle wagon. This one is recently restored, including
refinished frame surfaces, killer paint job, fresh interior and
rebuilt or updated everything.
Topping the list of aberrant character traits is a freshly restored
and built up 455ci Pontiac V8 in front of a 3-speed Turbo 400
rolling on 17" Torque Thrust wheels draped over power assisted
4-piston 12" Wilwood disc kits on all four corners. Power rack and
pinion steering complimented by tubular A arms and coils over
Bilsteins up front and over the axle in the rear.
Interior updates include a full set of Autometer gauges, tilt
wheel, vintage air, cruise control, intermittent wipers, and
Bluetooth stereo. Other than a steering wheel plucked out of a
Trans Am the rest is just good old school wing windows, column
shift, wide track bench seats... and tinted windows, ooh baby.
The big mill starts right up, idles steady but with a nice lump.
The car accelerates hard, shifts smooth and makes great sounds
doing it. Handles and stops like a modern car. Highway geared rear
end keeps things drama free on the interstate, vintage air and
playlist tunes keep it really chill.
Accompanying this Lemans is the factory build sheet, PHS
documentation, photo and paper records supporting the restoration.
This is a turnkey car. Buy it, drive it home, across town or
