Vehicle Description
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1969 Porsche 912 Karmann
Coupe. This is an honest, original and well-maintained example with
complete ownership and service history to new. First sold in
California, the car spent its life on the west coast before coming
to Atlanta in 2013. Finished in special-order Sepia Brown over
beige leatherette interior. One repaint some years ago to a nice
driver standard over a straight and rust-free body (with original
paint remaining in the jambs). Excellent original exterior trim
showing only light patina. Deep six Fuchs were installed in period
(note the vintage photo of this car from the early 1970s taken in
California). COA confirms numbers-matching engine and
transmission.
Interior is mostly original with excellent door cards and pockets,
seat upholstery, headliner, dash and steering wheel. Light wear on
carpets; newer cocoa mats. A modern stereo with aux input has been
installed in the original opening, with a dual-cone stereo speaker
behind the speaker grille in the dash. Gauges are clear and
working.
Actual mileage is 152k, confirmed by stacks of service records to
new. Engine was rebuilt with new clutch 30k miles ago. The current
owner recently spent more than $10k at the Porsche Classic Center
here in Atlanta on an engine-out service, reseal, new exhaust, and
engine compartment detail. The result is an engine that looks as
clean and correct as the day it left the factory (it also goes
without saying that it runs beautifully thanks to expert tuning
from Porsche factory-trained techs). Original Solex carbs with
correct air box.
This is a well-cared-for example with known history to new, plus
the added benefit of a recent comprehensive service by Porsche's
own Classic Center. COA, owner's manual, stamped service book,
tools, matching spare and all records accompany the car. For more
