Vehicle Description
Introduced in 1970, the second generation Firebird was only
available as a fastback coupe. Designed in tandem with the
Chevrolet Camaro, the Firebird was a popular halo car for the
Pontiac range. Government regulations started killing muscle cars
in the 1970's left and right. However, Pontiac kept producing the
Firebird Trans-Am with specs that were on the edge of legality,
with perhaps some fudging of some horsepower numbers. Of course,
Smokey and the Bandit made the late 70's models a highly desired
and iconic piece of cultural automotive history that still hold
mass appeal to this day.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1978 Pontiac Firebird
Trans Am for your consideration. Finished in a stunning shade of
Mayan Red that the current owner claims to have repainted 20 years
ago. The car is a two owner vehicle was purchased off its original
owner when it was just 6 months old. The car has been with its
current owner for nearly 40 years. The exterior is in excellent
original condition, free of any modifications. It features the
screaming chicken decal, mud flaps, front and rear spoilers, color
matched wheels, and quad exhaust tips. The interior is very nice as
well, with original cloth bucket seats as as well as power windows
and the factory stereo.
Not often do we get cars in that are in such extraordinary
condition and this Trans Am has been extremely well cared for by
its long term owner. You'll be hard pressed to find such a stunning
