Vehicle Description
1996 Mercedes Benz SL320 Convertible
Mercedes Benz has a long history of two seat sporty convertibles
and this car continues in that tradition. Always quick, these SL
(Sport Leicht) models combine performance with touring comfort and
style in the European Grand Touring tradition.
Known at the R129 model these cars were first introduced in 1990
and over the years evolved into several different models of varying
power. All models featured adjustable sport-luxury suspension and
an all news chassis with A arms in the front and fully independent
multi link rear suspension. An interesting safety feature was a
roll bar designed to extend in the event of a crash.
The SL320 replaced the original SL300 version in 1994 with a 3.2
liter straight six cylinder double overhead cam engine that
produced 217 hp. It features a 5-speed electronic automatic
transmission.
This convertible was delivered with a blue cloth top and a white,
aluminum hardtop. The interior is in Navy blue leather while the
body is polar white. The grill is a CL style replacement. The
wheels have been refinished in an AMG style.
This car has been with the same owner for twelve years. He was the
third owner, sold the car and liked it so much he bought it back so
is now the 5th owner. He says it has been carefully maintained with
upgraded head gasket, transmission service, new shock and motor
mounts and non-biodegradable wiring. He says he has documentation
on repairs.
Owner believes mileage to be original showing 167,000 on odometer.
Title reads exempt.
