Vehicle Description
If you are in the market for an early luxurious Mercedes 380SL that
has been taken care of and carries with it a ton of pride of
ownership... Then this is it! The question with any Mercedes from
any generation is always the same - How well has it been maintained
over the years? This Mercedes is a perfect example of how long
these cars will remain looking incredible if someone takes care of
them. Sure the mileage might be a little high, but this 380 carries
with it receipts showing that it has been maintained extremely
well.
Lets start with the body that looks incredible in the original
white color. The car was professionally repainted in the early
2000s and it still shows extremely well today. The chrome on the
car is original and in good shape considering its 35 years old. The
moldings around the windows have been replaced around the time the
car was painted. Yes the car does include a hard top and soft top,
however the soft top is original and showing some age. But let's be
honest, how often are you going to have the soft top up anyway?
Mechanically is where this car shines. Pop open the hood and you'll
see just how clean the engine bay is for 180k mile vehicle. It's
because the owners of this car maintainted it very well. The
question everyone has on these 380s is has the timing chain been
replaced? And thankfully with this car the timing chain was
replaced in 1999 when the car had just short of a 150k miles.
During that time they also went ahead and replaced the Timing Chain
tensioner, air filter, fuel filter, distributor cap, ignition
rotor, ignition cable, valve cover gaskets, transistor ignition
box, pick up coil, fuel pump and relay, and the master cylinder.
The result is a car that fires up easy and is a blast to drive.
They didn't stop there though, if you look under the car you'll see
a new transmission that today only has 30k miles on it, new
steering box, new flex joints, new fuel tank breather hoses and a
new transmission mount.
Ultimately, this Mercedes presents alot of bang for your buck!
She's ready for the open road and is ready for the next owner to
continue the great history this car already has. Please call with
