- SALE PENDING - When Ford revived the Boss 302 name in 2012 for the Mustang, they stayed true to the spirit of the original track-focused car from 1969-70. Starting with the standard 5.0 Coyote engine, the rotating assembly was upgraded with a forged unit, the heads were CNC ported and more aggressive camshafts were added, internally Ford's engineering team referred to the new engine as the Road Runner. Handling was improved through the use of higher-rate coil springs, larger stabilizer bars and stiffer bushings. Everything combined the cars sat just millimeters lower than a standard GT model. The appearance and aerodynamics were improved with a front splitter, a rear spoiler and added graphics, but for those who wanted even more, Ford offered the Laguna Seca Edition. Offered as a hardcore track variant with a name inspired from the racetrack on California’s central coast, it was a factory-ready track-day car that was the next step from a standard Boss 302. Weight savings was prioritized with removal of the rear seat and lightweight alloy wheels wrapped in high-performance tires. Extra features were added for improved aerodynamics and brake cooling, and the suspension was tuned even further. This option was only available in two colors for 2012, silver or black, both with red accents on the body and wheels.
Have covered less than 60 miles from new, this particular example is presented in pre-delivery condition with the original plastic, tags and Window Sticker still in place. Additionally, it comes with all accessories and extras, including the bolt-on splitter and brake cooling ducts, which are still new in the box. The car also comes with the original manuals and books, owner’s welcome kit and the important red track key. With only double-digit miles on the odometer, the car is in original showroom condition and a great presentation of a modern collectible Mustang.
