Vehicle Description
Very few vehicles are as notable as the Land Rover Defender. With
67 years of uninterrupted production, the Defender enjoyed world
wide sales and many admiring fans. With owners ranging from the
Queen of England, to the average potato farmer, the Defender was
classless and it looked good in both the city and on a safari. It
is argued that the Defender is the first and only car that is
recognized by remote third world populations, a true testament to
its durability and longevity. 1983 was the first year for the
longer 110 model.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this unique 1983 Defender 110
Wagon for your consideration. The long wheelbase 110 wagons are
universally loved for their space and utility benefits over the
shorter 90 chassis. Having been legally imported from the
Netherlands, this left Hand Drive example has a Michigan title. The
truck is in very solid shape. There is tons of patina, but the
truck has seen tons of unique places and is full of stories. The
truck features a number of diamond plated panels, as well as steel
wheels with good tires, steel bumpers, rear mounted spare, and a
trailer hitch. The brown paint is generally nice and contrasts
nicely with the white painted accents. The interior features a
basic, functional dashboard as well as clean, brown cloth seats.
The windows slide, and the floors a hose friendly. It can't get any
more functional than this.
This early production model features a dependable 2.5L diesel
engine that produces 68hp. Its mated to a 5-speed manual
transmission and has low range. While not the quickest truck on the
road, the short gearing moves it along well and nothing will stop
this off road. Clean, left hand drive examples are becoming more
and more scarce, time to join the safari while you can!
