For Sale: 1954 Ford F100 in Macedonia, Ohio

Vehicle Description

Professional build. All steel except running boards. 350 Chevy, 700R4, cold A/C, upgraded suspension, bucket seat interior. Runs and drives great, fully sorted, ready to show or cruise. Nice truck!

The two-tone paint is quite nicely done, and with only 1627 miles on the build, it should be fresh—the quality shows everywhere you look. The crisp break between the silver and violet paint is highlighted by a red pinstripe and even though there’s no really natural place for a break on the rounded bodywork, they made this work rather well. You’ll note a lot of the trim was shaved, most notably the front bumper, but they kept the awesome grille with its V8 emblem, the hood badge, and the factory door handles. It’s all steel save for the running boards, which are fiberglass, and the extra time to get the body to fit together properly was a smart investment. It shines up beautifully and we love the neat little details like the custom rear window, neatly finished bed with bright oak planks, and bullet taillights that are from a passenger car but look just right here, too. The rear bumper appears to be a custom-made piece and from any angle, this is a great-looking truck.

Rarely do we see trucks with interiors finished to this level on the inside, but with power bucket seats, lots of sound-deadening, and plenty of creature comforts, this doesn’t feel very trucky. Custom door panels match the seat upholstery and incorporate power windows and original door handles into the design. The two-tone look continues inside where the dash is neatly bisected by a chrome strip and the original instrument panel is now full of bright Dakota Digital instruments. A custom tilt column with a three-spoke banjo-style billet wheel makes it easy to get comfortable and the driving position is more muscle car than upright pickup. The A/C system tucks in under the dash with knobs integrated into the design, but the original radio grille was smoothed and filled so it gives everything a very sleek look. LED lighting makes it feel high-tech inside and it cruises down the road far more comfortably than you’d expect.

Yes, that’s a 350 cubic inch Chevrolet V8 under the hood, but when it comes to reliable power, there aren’t many better choices. It fits neatly in the Ford’s engine bay and delivers plenty of kick to make the F-100 feel downright quick. There’s all the usual equipment, including an Edelbrock intake with a 4-barrel carburetor on top, an HEI ignition system, and neat workmanship that suggests this was a careful build. The accessories are packaged tight to the block and there’s a giant radiator up front with a giant mechanical fan that has no trouble moving air. Wiring and plumbing are tidy and it runs great—turn the key and it starts, it idles well even when it’s cold, and it just doesn’t have any bad habits.

The undercarriage is extremely impressive and this was obviously a frame-off build. The factory frame was augmented with a custom front crossmember with stainless A-arms and power rack-and-pinion steering, so it no longer feels clumsy going down the road. The transmission is a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive, so it’s a fantastic highway cruiser. You’ll also note power front disc brakes, a custom dual exhaust system, and fresh hardware throughout. The GM 10-bolt rear end has what we believe are 3.73 gears inside—punchy around town but with the overdrive transmission, it’s still quite comfortable at highway speeds. There’s nothing exotic under there so it’ll be easy to maintain and service, but it sure works well. The stance is just about perfect and it sits on polished Torque Thrust wheels with staggered 215/70/15 front and 235/70/15 rear blackwall radials.

We sell a lot of modified vehicles, and the best ones are those where they nail the basics. Great stance, reliable power, plenty of comfort, and the right look. This very pretty Ford succeeds on all fronts, making it a fantastic driver that will be welcome just about anywhere you go. Call now!
