Vehicle Description
1931 Ford Roadster #833
The Ford Model A can be found in many iterations: coupe, to a
roadster, to a sedan to a pickup. Henry Ford had a solid base in
the Model A and appeased the masses with various options on that
frame.
This Model A has been painstakingly restored to its current hot rod
state. One of the cars in the Classic Auto Mall Collection that is
a show...er AND a goer. Goer in the true sense of the word, as the
consigner has drivability on his mind every step of the 5-year
build. No stone left unturned on this one!
Exterior
An all steel body draped with Mercedes Midnight Blue and accented
by lipstick red hand painted pin striping throughout, is a visual
stunner. A tuck and roll trunk, rear fenders bobbed to 8", doors
cut to fit flush, turn signals in headlight pods, all wrapped up in
immaculate package, best describes this consignment.
Underneath is as beautiful as up top, with rust preventative
painting, new floor plans, solid rockers, and immaculate wheel
wells. This car has seen a mere 8,000 miles since the completion of
the rebuild.
Interior
Marine grade lipstick red vinyl interior allows this car to be
driven in any weather without fear of anything getting ruined. New
gauges, a Genny ball shifter, and a banjo steering wheel, pretty
much describes the interior. Simple but incredibly awesome.
Drivetrain
This is where this consignment reads like the end of year "American
Top 40 Hit List" ... A 327ci Chevy with an Edelbrock 4-barrel Carb,
and an Edelbrock manifold backed by a 700R4 transmission, throws
smooth power to the rear wheels, and allows cruising at 70MPH at
1500 RPM which is just above idle. A 10-bolt rear from a Camaro and
a stiffened front suspension with rack and pinion steering has this
handling like a sports car.
A meticulous builder and consigner who paid attention to all
details, produced a final result combining the aesthetic traits of
a show-worthy street rod with the drivability of a modern hot rod.
This all-steel, 2X Best of Show winner roadster is ready to turn
heads, and snap necks. The appeal of this show and go roadster is
also price related, as you would have an impossible time doing this
quality of a build for the asking price.
