Vehicle Description
1960 BENTLEY S-2 CONTINENTAL H.J. MULLINER SPUR COUPE #BC39LAR
8,942 KM (APPROXIMATELY 5,365 MILES) SINCE 1ST RESTORATION IN
1990One of only 26 left drives built from 1960 1962, this factory
air-conditioned aluminum bodied Sports Saloon was in 1991-1992 a
previously undamaged largely original subject of a fine restoration
to the order of a noted Bentley fancier. The chassis was found to
have had some desirable upgrades to S-3 specification previously.
The decision was made to upgrade the engine to S-3 specification
and to fit an electronic ignition system as well. The resultant
performance enhanced by the original S-2 Continental differential
is in excess of any Silver Cloud based product. The factory air
conditioning system was upgraded at the same time. The automobile
was enjoyed in Switzerland until it was traded to us against an S-1
Continental Park Ward Coupe and resold to a very meticulous client
residing in Monaco and the UK as well as Florida. It has since been
very well looked after by the highly regarded service facility in
the UK.It once again became our property (traded on yet another S-1
Continental Coupe) in 2012 and was supplied to a long time local
client who recently traded it to us against yet a THIRD S-1
Continental Sports Coupe!!Finished in Bayard Crimson and trimmed in
Champagne Connolly hides, this exciting high speed performer will
prove a most worthy addition to any connoisseurs stable. The
ownership pedigree of the automobile since our first acquisition in
1989 in entirely original condition aside from an older respray, is
quite extensive and well documented with photos and internal repair
files, which will become the property of the next keeper.Complete
owners handbooks and small tools in their original H.J. Mulliner
special case are included along with copies of the factory work
history.
