Vehicle Description
This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro has a lot to offer with its high impact
exterior and smooth running and original matching numbers 327 V8.
It's ready to take you on your next cruise or even a local car show
if that's your gig.
Its dark cherry metallic paint is a very appealing shade. A
definite attention-getter, it's got a unique quality to it - dark
and magnetic, while showing a colorful undertone as well as just
the right amount of metal flake that really allows it to come alive
in the sunlight. The scooped hood strikes a nice balance -
prominent enough to confer a definite custom vibe, while not so
excessive as to distract from the Camaro's classic form. There are
some very nice finishing details on display here - the fresh new
vinyl top that is very well-fitted, the front grille provides a
deep black background for a fresh appearance, the badging on all
four sides presents well and the cabin is surrounded by very clean
glass. Step a little closer and you can see that the rear spoiler
has been precisely installed in back and the front air dam matches
up nicely with the clean chrome bumper just above it. This is a
very sharp first-generation Camaro.
The interior already has a lot going for it with fresh looking
black vinyl covers on the buckets in front and bench in back which
don't appear to have been subject to much wear. They are bracketed
by door panels mirroring the same condition and in between the
buckets, the center console sports a signature Chevy horseshoe
shifter and a sharp looking woodgrain insert. A clean stock
steering wheel sits on its column, while just beyond it, the
factory gauges in the cluster are clear and easily readable while a
couple of aftermarket gauges sit low in the center stack. The trunk
area in back looks as if it just recently emerged from the
restoration shop - it's well detailed and you can see just how
nicely the wheelhouses meet up with the trunk floor.
A very nicely detailed engine compartment sits under the scooped
hood, with a radiator support, inner fenders and a firewall all
painted gloss black to provide a great backdrop for the 327 cubic
inch V8 sitting at the center, surrounded by an assortment of fresh
hoses. The engine has a "scrubbed clean" appearance and wears a
pair of chrome valve covers and a chrome air cleaner that look
great against its properly painted orange block. It's the very same
powerplant this Camaro began life with and it's in very good form,
armed with a 4-barrel Holley carb for some added muscle and sending
a nice, deep note out of its aftermarket headers into its dual
exhaust. Smooth power steering makes this Chevy classic an easy
driver, while power front disc brakes bring its chrome BG wheels
wrapped in brand new Barum radial tires to a prompt stop as
needed.
