What more can be said about the Ford Mustang? The original "Pony
car," the car that brought personalization and performance to the
masses. A car you could see in your hair-dressers parking spot or
battling the likes of the Italian sports cars and showing the world
that American muscle was no laughing matter. This 1967 Ford Mustang
Fastback falls into the latter category.
Paying homage to the Shelby legacy, this nicely rendered restomod
is certain to excite... Under the fiberglass hood sits a 302ci, V8
stroked to 347ci churning out 400 approximately horsepower. All
that power is sent through a Tremec TKO600 5-speed manual and out
through a Ford 9" rear end. A quick glance in the engine bay and
you'll see the vintage A/C, power steering, power brakes, MSD
ignition and plenty of chrome. QA1 adjustable shocks help translate
the power to the road, while a set of 17" Billet Specialties wheels
clad in fresh Michelin rubber hide a set of slotted Baer disc
brakes at all four corners. Cooling comes courtesy of a aluminium
radiator with 2 electric fans.
Inside, you'll be greeted by a black vinyl interior and a wood
grain Shelby steering wheel. The dashboard houses an MP gauge
cluster, with a digital odometer. A Pioneer head unit connects to a
modern sound system with full AM/ FM capability. Two subwoofers
line the easily accessible trunk and a multi-disc CD changer is
available for further entertainment. Other amenities include
variable speed windshield wipers, full climate control, and power
windows.
Full Shelby regalia is the best way to describe the exterior. The
royal blue paint is nicely accented racing stripes down the middle.
A full GT500 body kit has been added featuring an extended front
chin spoiler and fog lights recessed into the grill. The paint
shows very well, approximately 20 years old, you can tell it has
been cared for over that time. It does have a bubble or two on the
bottom of the passenger side door, but pretty typical for these
mustangs. The floor has had a couple of patches near the
transmission tunnel but everything looks like it was done
right.
This Mustang has been with the current owner for over 20 years and
is looking for a new home. For those looking to add a turnkey
version of an all American beast to their collection, this restomod
is the Pony for you. Contact Shelton Classics & Performance at
