Originally sold in Denver, Colorado this 3 owner 1968 Pontiac
Firebird is has been fully restored and ready for its new owner. It
started out life with a 350 cubic inch V8 and a Muncie M21 close
ratio 4-speed transmission. It has been completely rebuilt from the
ground up with all new suspension, stock springs front and rear as
well as all new bushings. The 10 bolt rear end was completely
rebuilt and has a new Auburn limited slip spool housing 3.23 gears.
Having new disc brakes front and rear help the car stop straight
and very quick. Popping the bright red hood reveals the 1967 400
cubic inch Pontiac block that was completely inspected before being
rebuilt. Engine is bored .030 over allowing for the 461 stroker
assembly to call it home. The short block was assembled by one of
the best engine builders in the area and after completion was dyno
tuned and tested where it produced peak numbers of 497 horsepower
and 570 ft. lbs. of torque. Diving into the list of components that
have been built into this power house the bottom end consists of an
Eagle crankshaft, forged 4340 rods, SRP forged racing pistons, high
press and volume oil pump in a six-quart pan. Taking a look at the
top end there is a full roller Comp camshaft, and a set of
Edelbrock D port 87cc heads. Cam specifications are 502 int. and
510 exh. lift but with 1.6 ratio rockers lift is closer to actual
530. The engine was built this way to get good lift without
excessive duration. Helping transfer all of this power to the
ground is a completely brand new Muncie M22 Rock Crusher 4 speed
transmission. This 4-speed is a wide ratio that works perfectly
with the big engine and higher 3.23 rear end gears. When we said
this was a complete restoration we ment it! Even the Ram clutch
assembly is brand new with all new linkage. Everything in the
drivetrain has been balanced complete with the flywheel and new
driveshaft. This Firebird was built for handling and performance at
any speed. Taking care of the handling performance up front is a
set of BMR tubular upper and lower control arms, large BMR sway
bar, and tall upper ball joints. All of the hard work has been done
to bring this car to where it is all it needs is someone to take it
to car shows or on road trips. Looking at the interior you'll
realize the seats have been re-upholstered with factory style
covers. Everything on the dash has been replaced including a new
dash pad, instrument cluster was rebuilt and while the owner was in
there he replaced the heater core and blower motor. You can view
