Vehicle Description
1966 Shelby GT350 For Sale - Never Restored Survivor With Original
Paint LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1966 Shelby GT350
The 1966 Shelby's were visually very similar to the original
1965's, but they were a little less purpose built as a sports car.
They retained their back seats, had slightly softer suspension,
full undercar exhaust systems and visually now had distinguishing
rear windows in place of the vents on the 65's and "regular"
Mustang models. They did however retain the 306hp "K" code Hi-Po
engine and 4 speed transmission as well as an optional
"cruise-o-matic" automatic transmission. The cars were also
available in five colours, Red, Blue, Green, Black and White with
optional factory LeMans stripes. The story of this stunning
Wimbledon White Shelby GT350 begins September 22, 1966 at Holiday,
Ford in Sunnyvale, CA. It has been extremely well cared for and
never restored since new, wearing its original Wimbledon White
paint applied by the factory. According to the Shelby World
Registry, the car changed hands a few times very early on and then
stayed with the last owner for over 35 years. Pull the hood pins
and underneath is a very original engine bay with all parts you can
be confident are correct with this original Shelby. It still
retains its numbers matching Hi-Po 289/306hp engine backed by the
factory 4 speed manual transmission. The interior remains original
and untouched in black with fold down rear seat, dash mounted tach
and racing belts. Having been collector owned and maintained ever
since, the car shows beautifully. Over the past several years,
"Hagerty's Cars That Matter" has observed unrestored cars sell for
prices that would have astonished in the recent past. Preservation
Classes are being added to concours nationwide to showcase well
preserved and mostly unrestored, un-refinished, and unaltered cars.
The old car hobby is headed in the direction of the fine art,
decorative arts, and antique furniture markets, where a premium is
placed on originality. This GT350 comes fully documented listed
in the Shelby American World Registry, fully documenting the way it
was initially assembled and delivered. A great look with a great
car, this is a fantastic opportunity to obtain an original never
restored survivor example of a true highlight of Mustang
performance and Shelby Heritage. It is extremely rare and very
unique to find an unrestored Shelby is this condition with its
original paint like this one. Additional Details: 1966 SHELBY GT350
