Vehicle Description
This 1938 Chevrolet two-door sedan is a full uniform custom built
to look terrific when cruising and even bring home a few trophies.
Add in the best features around like A/C, overdrive transmission, a
fuel-injected LT1 Corvette motor, and you soon realize this is the
custom build that steals every show.
The paint you can't take your eyes off of is called Purple
Fantasia. It really does have a fantasy look with its deep metallic
luster. In fact, the paint is already so slick and shiny that the
car can forgo some chrome in the usual places, like its expertly
deleted bumpers, shaved door handles, and taillights (they're now
custom integrated into the body.) Plus, its clean design makes the
brightwork on the classic Chevrolet grille and American Racing Torq
Thrust wheels really standout. But the coolest touch to this Chevy
is the pinstriping. It takes a special shade of blue to look so
electric against the purple. And this one does it so nicely and
completely as it runs the full length of the car - highlighting
some of the best curves around - and ending in an artful design on
the trunk.
With so much custom work on the exterior, it's no surprise there
was plenty invested in the interior, too. You start with the
comfort of modern tan leather bucket seats. This material matches
the door panels, headliner, piping around the carpets, dashboard,
and even the wrapping on the three-spoke steering wheel. And just
like the exterior, this is a clean and tidy setup that thoughtfully
placed terrific upgrades. For example, the AM/FM/CD stereo is
mounted in a custom overhead console. The power window switches are
color matched to the doors. The dash is an exceptionally clean
setup that looks sleek when parked. But with the turn of the key,
and it lights up with a cool blue glow thanks to Dakota Digital
readouts - they're utilized for everything from the gauges to the
automatic climate control with ice-cold air conditioning.
The moment you fire this one up you know it's different in all the
right ways. The fuel-injected 350 cubic-inch V8 LT1 motor was
borrowed from a Corvette, and it roars to life. The V8 presents
very nicely with the tidy engine bay featuring the slick purple
firewall. While you're looking at all the details, save some time
to look at the undercarriage photos. There you'll see great
upgrades like the Mustang II-style independent front suspension,
stout Ford 9-inch rear w/limited slip, and sway bars front & rear.
If that already sounds like a great anytime driver, then you'll
also love the power steering, front disc brakes, and four-speed
automatic transmission w/highway-friendly overdrive.

classic. So if you like your custom cars memorable and
