Vehicle Description
1973 Chevrolet Camaro Meet Old School. Old school, as in street
slicks on 15'Torque Thrusts, old school as in traction bars, old
school as in locker rear end, old school as in turbo 400 with 3200
stall, old school as in a 4-barrel carb and headers on either side
of a big block mill. Old School aint no 'restomod'. This '73 Camaro
was born a split bumper RS, the final year of the chrome bumper
cars on the Gen 2 body style. It has been built for street fighting
on Saturday night but retains just enough civility to make it a
fine Sunday cruiser. It starts with a GM Performance 502 big block
crate motor topped with an Edelbrock intake and Holley 850cfm
4-barrel carburetor. A high pressure fuel system and a K and N air
filter spit fire through a pair of Hooker headers and out through
set of Dynomax mufflers and three inch axle back dumps. A built 3
speed Turbo 400 with a 3200 stall converter spins a looped drive
shaft into a Quick Performance 9' Ford housing with 3.50:1 Detroit
Locker center section. Obviously with this drive train, there is no
problem breaking loose a set of Micky Thompson 275/60-15 ET Street
radials mounted on a matched set of classic American Racing Torque
Thrust 5-spoke wheels. Up front 215/70-15 BF Goodrich Radial T/A's
are mounted over factory power disc brakes (drums out back) with an
auxiliary vacuum assist reservoir. A set of CalTracs rear
suspension bars and front drag shocks keep everything planted and
under control when the pedal hits the metal while a B and M ratchet
shifter delivers precise upshifts every time. Twin shrouded
electric fans and frame rail mounted trans cooler give this car
real world driveability. -Vehicle is on consignment and at our
