For Sale: 1972 Chevrolet C10 in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

There's just something about old school pickups that's universally appealing. To us, they're clean, straightforward manifestations of the best aspects of classic car ownership. And it seems many enthusiasts agree, as trucks like this timeless Chevy have quickly become some of our hottest sellers. Mixing 402 cubic inches of big block might with a sturdy chassis, a tough Turbo-Hydramatic 3-speed and show-stopping aesthetics, this stunning C10 is worthy of EVERY gearhead's full attention. Looking for an exquisite classic that's guaranteed to make you weak in the knees? Take a long look at this sublime piece of bowtie artistry!

BLACK BEAUTY

Fully sorted and ready to roll, this super cool Chevy is the beneficiary of a detailed, frame-off restoration that presents very well. Under the truck's deep 2-stage, an incredibly straight fuselage hangs solid panels that, with the exception of the aforementioned restoration, appear to have led a quiet, drama-free existence. And that body's combination of excellent reflections and Kansas-flat surfaces suggest many labor-intensive hours were spent exacting top-notch finish work. At the front of the truck, a billet-tinged grille hangs modern red-dot headlights above a polished bumper, clean parking lamps and a sporty chin spoiler. Above that grille, a domed hood fronts tinted glass, which seats fresh stainless frames beneath mirrored visors and polished wipers. At the sides of that glass, boxy mirrors reflect a tasteful profile, which hangs fresh emblems, rich door handles and ornate marker lamps amid stylish factory trim. And at the back of that profile, a symmetrical tailgate centers a requisite Chevrolet banner between clean taillights, a body-matched bed and a second polished bumper.

400 (+2)

It's no secret that GM used to be pretty relaxed when it came to advertised engine displacements. In the heyday of Chevrolet's legendary Chevelle, SS396 cars actually ran a 402 cubic inch block. That same mindset was applied to this line of C10s, except with even more variables. See, even though Chevrolet offered a small block 400, these trucks, like SS396 Chevelles, actually ran the 402 block behind factory 400 badging. Perplexing, right? Well, one thing is for sure: performance certainly wasn't lacking! Hoist this pickup's glossy hood and you'll find 402 cubic inches of correct Chevrolet big block that was painted and fully detailed during the truck's thorough restoration. Power originates when wind whips from a polished and bowtie-branded air cleaner in to a coated Edelbrock 4-barrel. That air/fuel mixture travels through a polished aluminum intake to iron Chevy heads, which ride under finned breathers and polished valve covers. Sparks are sequenced from a hot HEI distributor to Ultimate Heat Protection cables. Spent gases roar through fully restored exhaust manifolds. Charge comes courtesy of a polished alternator, which spins beside an aluminum water pump and a polished AC compressor. And up front, a beefy radiator mates a polished cap with attractive stainless shrouds.

READY TO ROLL

Behind that trusty powerplant, a trusty Turbo-Hydramatic 400 3-speed spins a stainless-trimmed 12-bolt axle that's finished with 3.08 gears and an open differential. Everything rolls on a rebuilt, factory-style suspension. Factory-style power steering makes parking easy and turns a cinch. Power front disc and rear drum brakes provide quick stops. The aforementioned manifolds feed fresh, 2.5-inch pipes, which employ bold Flowmaster mufflers. And power meets the pavement through polished Panther blades, which twist 265/35R22 Nitto NT420S in front of 285/45R22 Nitto NT420S.

NOTHING BEATS HOUNDSTOOTH!

Swivel the doors and you'll reveal a tasteful Chevy cockpit that's classy in all the right ways. Fresh black vinyl joins far out houndstooth cloth to span a broad bench seat. In front of that seat, a body-matched dash hangs factory-spec telemetry beside cool air conditioning and modern, direct-fit audio. Materials err on the side of premium, with attractive woodgrain and plush carpet complementing full door panels, a tight dash pad and a vinyl headliner. And in front of the driver, a reproduction Rally Wheel laps a modern, tilting column.

Perpetually cool and visually stunning, this awesome Chevy is an appealing take on the traditional truck concept. Combining top-notch craftsmanship with proven mechanicals, it presents the rare opportunity to land a truly timeless classic that easily doubles as a well-sorted road warrior. Don't miss your chance to own this killer C10!
