This 1992 Land Rover Defender 90 (D90) is a very cool and fully
documented former Ministry of Defense (MOD) Special Vehicle with
the British Royal Air Force (RAF) truck that is a right-hand drive
model (extremely rare in the USA). Finished in MOD-spec Drab Green
with Land Rover OEM Denim covered seats, it's powered by Rover's
revered 2.5L Diesel Engine with 5-Speed Manual Gearbox.
Meticulously maintained to exacting military-spec standards with
log book (MOD Merlin Report) inclusive of maintenance, this
particular D90 was put into service in 1992 at Royal Air Force
Station Wittering, (home to the Harrier squadrons), as an HQ
Vehicle (Officers runabout), with an out of service date of 1997.
As such, this Rover was exceptionally well-maintained and presents
in outstanding condition throughout. With only a touch of the
ignition, this fabulous D90 starts and runs flawlessly, and it runs
out smoothly at highway speeds. Doors and panels are rock solid,
the interior shows in excellent condition. The convertible top is
free from damage with all panels being soft and pliable, and the
windows soft and clear. The Michelin XZL Kevlar tires are Genuine
British Military Specification and are like new, they're mounted to
genuine Wolf Steel wheels (Ministry of Defense spec). Newer genuine
springs and Bilstein struts and steering strut. OEM floor matting
system with a brand new genuine rear set. OEM D90 genuine
all-weather mats. MOD spec weather muff system. New snow cowl
(removable). Original MOD fire extinguisher.Underside pics of this
M.O.D. Defender 90 here...It was a long-term ownership recently
imported and regularly maintained to exacting standards using only
LR Genuine parts and specified fluids. While certainly fitted for
the harshest environments it has not seen much more than occasional
dry street usage since import. Included with purchase are; Complete
UK MOD Merlin Report log book inclusive of registrations and
maintenance history, two keys, all jacks, and tools. All Legal
Import Documents and Records. Clean Title.The Defender needs no
formal introduction. At limited availability in the US, it is one
of the most coveted and rare SUVs in history. This 90 came to us
from a discerning Land Rover enthusiast's collection. While not a
flawless example, she is a fabulous find and there are no issues
whatsoever. It is highly unlikely that you'll ever see another
example like this. The truck started its life as a 1992 D90 with
final fittings to specification by the Ministry of Defense in the
UK. Upon retirement, the truck was lovingly maintained by its
second UK Keeper until its import to the US in October 2017. It
appears the truck's chassis was regularly WaxOyl Maintained. The
2.5L Diesel drivetrain is coveted as the best rock solid power
plants for these trucks with no added electronics, simple
maintenance with significant Off-Road torque and partnered with the
5 Speed Manual Gearbox it feels simply unstoppable. From the first
