For Sale: 1970 Plymouth Cuda in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

When you spot a listing for a 1970 'Cuda, the first thing you're sure to read is a string of adjectives extolling the value of the car. And, sure, this factory Lime Light coupe is a great investment, but Return On Investment isn't the sole purpose of owning a storied collector car. It's about the feel... the emotion... the thrill of experiencing one of the greatest machines ever created. Whether experiencing or investing, this fantastic Plymouth is sure to create a stir! Pairing an original Super Commando 440 with correct 6 BBL induction and a correct A833 4-speed, this Plymouth is prime MoPar muscle! And if you're looking for some choice metal that'll stop the show AND tear up the road, it's a fine candidate for your next classic.

AUTHENTIC HIGH IMPACT PAINT

Methodically restored, this E-Body's latest rebuild began in 2016 when its solid, original exterior sheetmetal was carefully stripped and lovingly refinished. In addition to being an early member of the 902 1970 440 6 BBL hardtop 4-speed 'Cudas produced, this Plymouth is a legit Lime Light High Impact Paint car. What's more: that correct 2-stage looks predictably maniacal under correct Longitudinal Sport Stripes. Factory detailing begins with a stainless-trimmed, 1970-exclusive grille, which hangs traditional halogen headlights above a bright bumper and polished fog lamps. At the top of that grille, stainless lanyards pin a retrofitted Shaker Hood, which anchors subtle "'cuda 440-6" badging in front of clean, stainless-trimmed glass. At the sides of that hood, ridged rocker guards frame vivid marker lamps, satin door handles and attractive sport mirrors. And at the back of the car, a Satin Black valence hangs a cool "'cuda" emblem between simple taillights, a second bright bumper and polished exhaust tips.

AUTHENTIC 440 6 BBL POWER

Pull this Plymouth's polished pins and you'll find an original, 440 cubic inch Super Commando V8 that was authenticated in April of 2017 by David Wise of MMC Detroit. More popular than Chrysler's famed Hemi, and almost as feared, Plymouth's storied 440 6 BBL was designed to be the industry's best combination of comfort, streetability and big block performance. Oxygen whips through a flaked Shaker to three 1974 Holleys. At the front of those carbs, a traditional points distributor sequences fire through proven Chrysler Electronic Suppression cables. At the sides of that intake, Hemi Orange valve covers perfectly contrast correct exhaust manifolds. Combustion is provided by unaltered factory internals. Cooling comes courtesy of a correct Heavy Duty Cooling Package, which includes a 7-blade torque drive fan. Aesthetically, the buff powerplant is clean, mean and ready to show. And naturally, a 2536430 casting number shades a matching 100742 partial VIN.

AUTHENTIC DRIVING EXPERIENCE The chassis specs leave little question as to what this 'Cuda was engineered to do best. Untouched floors hang factory undercoating over largely original bones. The aforementioned RB funnels thrust to a correct A833 4-speed. That transmission twists power to a correct Super Track Pak Dana 60 that's finished with a posi-traction differential and big, 4.10 gears. Below that sorted drivetrain, a correct Hemi Suspension includes a correct sway bar and correct Firm Ride shock absorbers. Optional power front disc and rear drum brakes provide plenty of stopping power. Exhaust is handled by free-flowing, 2.5-inch pipes, which jettison cooked dinosaurs through factory replacement mufflers and factory replacement resonators. And torque meets the pavement through crisp Rallye Wheels, which spin F60-15 Goodyear Polyglas GTs around silver center caps and polished trim rings.

AUTHENTIC APPEAL

Swivel the car's solid-closing doors and you'll find a correct Black interior that's built around optional leather seating. In front of the driver, an ornate Rim Blow Steering Wheel laps a wood-trimmed dash that's finished with detailed Rallye Gauges and vintage Chrysler Solid State audio. Below that dash, stain-free carpet traces a Hurst Pistol Grip Shifter. At the sides of that carpet, sculpted panels proudly hang the 'Cuda name above traditional window cranks, integrated door handles and cool chrome locks. And behind the passengers, a fully restored trunk hangs a correct decklid decal above a fresh mat and spare tire.
