Vehicle Description
I believe this MGB has 27,726 actual miles. There are certain
characteristics of a low mile car I picked up on before even
looming at the odometer.
INTERIOR: I'm sitting in the car. The seats and headrests have firm
cushions, upholstery looks new. Carpet looks new. The stuff that
doesn't get replaced like steering wheel, console, gauges etc are
mint. There is no wear on the steering wheel. I open the glovebox
and find some nice surprises. There is a receipt for new tires in
1998 and the miles were at 25,500. That's only 100 miles a year the
last 20 years. I also find the orginal hard cover owners manual,
folded up inside is the original window sticker. It was sold brand
new and at a Jaguar-Rover-Triumph dealer in Kankakee Illinois.
EXTERIOR: Body is clean and straight. Has glossy smooth paint.
There is a bend in the aluminium trunk lid that can probably be
straightened. The chrome and trim still look new. The original
windshield is very clear, no wiper marks. The rubber bumpers are
excellent, not nicked up. Black convertible top is new, plastic
windows are crystal clear. The original top boot is very nice. Also
has factory tonneau cover, in excellent shape. Wheels are painted
nice, trim rings are shiny. Weatherstrips and seals are soft
rubber.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It also has tell tale signs of a low mile car.
The complete heat shield with duct work that heats the carb is
still complete. The smog pump that most people remove is still
intact. Wiring looks good, belts are new. The car was driven an
hour to Volo, runs great. Has dual electric fans.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Clean metal with nice yellow paint. Has spare.
Original jack is in it's pouch.
