For Sale: 1969 Dodge Dart in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

Mopar never had enough nerve to stuff a 440 with a six pack into the little light weight Dart. That doesn't mean it isn't a good idea, right? It's a great idea! The restorer of this Dart thought so. Started with a real clean Arizona car.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: I'm going to start with the engine compartment because engine is the engine the highlight of the car. It is about as fresh as they get, the motor looks like it hasn't even been fired yet. It is a very desirable 1970 440 big block engine with Edelbrock intake and Holley six pack carb setup. On top is the correct air cleaner assembly. Upgraded with a set of headers and aluminum water pump. All the components look new like the fan shroud, alternator, wires, heater blower, wiper motor, master cylinder, wiring etc. The engine bay is all clean metal, no rust or damage repair that i can find. Clean factory seams and welds. It is painted a beautiful glossy blue. The original fender tag is attached and it decodes as a real B5 blue car. It is very neat and orderly.

UNDERSIDE: Looks like it has it's original metal, rock solid. No patches, even the bottoms of the 1/4 panels look clean original. Has welded in frame connectors for a more rigid body to handle all the torque from the bigger motor. The front end is completely rebuilt and detailed. The bottom of the motor and trans are spotless. Has the big 727 TorqueFlite. New disc brakes in front. New driveshaft with safety loop. In back it has new leaf springs and shocks, also a custom fuel tank.

EXTERIOR: I said the motor was the highlight but the more I look the body is exceptionally clean on this car. Yeah, the more I look at this car I'm realizing how clean the body is. I just learned the car is originally from Prescott Arizona. It's really straight, the doors fit the fenders and 1/4s like it's one piece. The doors shut like a new car too. The paint has a smooth glossy clear coat finish. Jambs are painted real nice, weatherstrips are soft. Glass is rwally clear, windshield is new. The bumpers are rechromed, side moldings are exceptionally straight and shiny. Grill, tail panel trim are very nice. Vinyl top is new and the trim around it is excellent. Perfect choice of wheels. 15 inch painted rims with the dog dish caps with newer BFG tires, wider in back for a aggressive look and a better chance of hooking up.

INTERIOR: Inside the car is really nice too. The upholstery is new and the seat feels nice and firm. Door panels have been replaced. Carpet and headliner have been replaced. The dash area is really nice, nothing broken or damaged. The chrome knobs and trim shine. The factory AM-FM radio is rare. Neatly installed under the dash is a Mopar oil and temperature gauge. Dash pad is new. Seatbelts, steering wheel, trim is all very nice.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Inside the trunk is real nice. The spare tire well has been filled in to accommodate the custom gas tank underneath. Has original style plaid mat. Underside of the trunk lid has it's original paint and jack instructions sticker. Weatherstrip was replaced.

The more time I spent looking at this car the more I liked it. It has more to offer then just the motor. It's a rust free car restored mechanically and cosmetically really well. I even told the salesmen how much I like this one!
