Vehicle Description
1959 Willys Wagon 4WD. I bought this vehicle from the owner in. He
had done a complete restoration on it himself about 15 years ago
now. I have driven it regularly for the past 5 years or so since I
have had it. I have 4 children so seating for 6 was necessary.
Anything I have worked on has come apart and back together well...
no rusty or seized bolts or parts. I cannot keep it inside like it
should be kept. The clear coat is peeling as a result. I started to
put the headliner in and have not completed it. All parts are
there. It has the 230 Tornado engine and period correct Warn
overdrive so you can drive 55/60 if you can handle manual steering
and brakes at that speed on a vehicle that was designed for 45MPH.
Everything works on. With vehicles this age that is day to day. My
son drove it to high school for the last half of this school year.
It is far from perfect but (other than the engine) is all original
parts. The stainless strip under the dash to hold extra gauges can
come right off without leaving evidence behind. Many of these have
holes drilled all over the dash for extra gauges or switches.
During the restoration all sealants and paints on body and
powertrain were modern specified top quality products but it
eventually started leaking anyway. Every repair has been easy as
all bolts and hardware have been removed and replaced during
restoration. No seized or rusted together bolts or parts. Machining
and engineering from the 1940's when this vehicle was introduced is
prone to this. You can paint and finishing to make a great show car
or spend nothing and enjoy it like I do. I cant say what the
mileage is. The original odometer has always worked and currently
does. -Vehicle is on consignment and at our clients home -Please
