Introduced in 1998, the 996 generation of the venerable 911 was a
dramatic departure from its predecessors. A whole new chassis,
water cooled engined and significant electronics were the biggest
differences. While fast and capable, many enthusiasts lamented the
changes and the 996 has become one of the least like Porsches in
history. Despite enthusiasts complaints, the 996 sold well and was
still an excellent performance car. While air-cooled models have
stratospheric prices and newer examples are just as pricey, the 996
represents a bargain of modern performance, classic heritage, and
lower prices.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this very clean 1999 Carrera
for your consideration. Finished in Arctic Silver Metallic, this
car is very clean overall. The body is straight and original and
the current owner claims that the car had the front bumper
repainted. The paintwork is very nice and the exterior features HID
headlights, heated rear window, black painted 18in alloy wheels,
drilled brake rotors with black calipers and dual exhaust. The
interior is finished in a cool Boxster red that really pops with
looked at with the silver paint. The interior is very clean with
just a little normal wear on the leather drivers seat. The dash is
clean and the car has the sport seats, power windows, power locks,
heated seats, CD player, and climate control.
This Porsche is a lovely driver and has been well serviced and
cared for. A big point to mention is that the car received a
replacement 3.4L engine in 2001. Other service work includes an
updated IMS solution installed, rear main seal, clutch kit, dual
mass flywheel, clutch return spring, water pump, thermostat
assembly, air oil separator, spark plugs, ignition coils,
transmission service, oil change, drive belt, brake work, and
