1976 MG MGB
History
The MGB is a two-door sports car manufactured and marketed by the
British Motor Corporation later British Leyland, as a
four-cylinder, soft-top roadster from 1962 until 1980. Its details
were first published on 19 September 1962.
Why This Car Is Special
A stark contrast from the big and heavy American muscle cars of the
60 s and 70 s, this MGB we have here at Skyway Classics has the pep
under the hood to compliment the light and nimble frame.
Mechanical
Under the hood is a 1798 cc 4-cylinder engine, backed by a 4-speed
manual transmission. Power output is about 94 horsepower @ 5500rpm
with it's dual carbs and open air cleaners. The gearbox is a four
speed manual, all synchromesh. The chassis is a Unit Construction
body with welded steel construction and the front suspension on a
subframe. The brakes are disc front and drum rear.
Our MGB has had an extensive rebuild and has pages of parts
replaced as you can see in the pictures. It rides on black wall
tires and aluminum mag wheels.
Interior
The MG has a great tan bucket seat interior with matching tan
carpet, aftermarket radio, manual black convertible top,, power
brakes, seat belts, vinyl interior and door panels, factory gauges,
tan shifter boot, and much more.
Exterior
The bright red paint shows off the classic lines of the MGB and
with the accommodating interior, great motor, and great handling
characteristics, this little MGB is a perfect example of sporty
European style.
At the opposite end of the car is a surprisingly roomy trunk
complete with a spare tire and wheel.
