Chevrolet Corvette Convertible. Corvette put America back on the
sports car map and Corvette owners in a class by themselves. The
Chevrolet Corvette, C2 for 2nd Generation and also known as the
Corvette Sting Ray, is the American sports car legend produced for
the 1963 to 1967 model years. The radical exterior styling of this
Corvette generation was very purposeful, with peaked fenders, a
long nose and a short bobbed tail that Chevrolet designers bragged
about as 'looks most stylists would be too timid to even suggest'.
Quad headlamps were hidden - mounted in rotating sections that
matched the sharp-edged front end with the "eyes" closed. For 1966
Chevrolet made only evolutionary changes such as the frontal
appearance was mildly altered with an egg-crate grille insert to
replace the previous horizontal bars, Coupe lost its roof-mounted
extractor vents which had proved inefficient, back up lights were
now standard, knock-off wheels were still available, headrests were
now optional and the interior door pulls are bright metal.
Corvettes also received an emblem in the corner of the hood for
1966. The "Big Block" Models debuted that year and came with a
special bubble hood to accommodate the stronger horsepower engines

and shipped on November 8th, 1966 to British American Chev Olds
