Vehicle Description
1962 Ford Thunderbird Convertible with Roadster Package -Vehicle is
a solid rust-free car, bright red paint and red interior and
Roadster tonneau cover. Perhaps the most collectible color for this
vintage. Runs/drives as it should. Vehicle was painted in 2-stage
urethane (base coat/clear coat) and I'd say it's a strong 9 out of
10 for it's quality. Panel alignment is good. Left Door is not
closed tight. According to the restorer in our club the door
'striker' only needs to be adjusted inward for better fitment. No
signs of rust evident. Paint luster is great. All Brightwork is
intact and undamaged. Car has Kelsey Hayes Knock-off-type Wheels
and Wide White Tires (less than 500 miles on them). Owner has the
original fender skirts in likewise good condition which are
somewhat scarce for these. No soft top. Vehicle will need a new
soft top. Interior is bright red and in excellent condition
throughout. Carpets showing signs of thinning and may need
detailing. Dash is not split. All instruments work as they should.
Vehicle has 'tilt away' steering column and is always a hit at the
shows. Seats are in great shape and exhibit no bolster wear. Altho'
rear seats are mostly covered by tonneau cover they are in
excellent condition. Engine bay is clean and looks factory correct.
Non-AC car. Apart from some detailing, there are no obvious fluid
leaks or known mechanical issues as this car is a pleasure to
drive. No unusual noises or odors etc. Odometer is believed to be
beyond mechanical limits. Power Windows work as they should. Slow
on start up but seem better when car is warmed up. Top Rear deck
and hardware move up/down as they should------albeit slowly. No
vibrations/shimmys/ etc. Vehicle has new exhaust system. -Vehicle
