Vehicle Description
1969 Mercury Cougar Convertible. This car has had a rotisserie
restoration completed about 6 years ago. Every nut, bolt, screw was
removed. All rust issues were repaired with new metal. The largest
patch was probably 4' x 6'. I believe it is numbers matching
engine, transmission and rear end, all 3 were overhauled. The 351 W
was upgraded many years ago with a 4 BBL, holly carb 650 CFM new in
the last 3 months it has 1.6 rollers rockers, street cam, magnaflow
40 series, hooker headers. The base wiring harness was replaced
with an XR 7 wiring harness and dash components. Every function of
the XR7 package work except the low fuel warning light (wire not
hooked up) and the amp meter (dangerous anyway there is a
conversion for volt meter). Door ajar works, Temp gauge reads
correctly ( you can no longer get the proper sending unit, what you
can get is close but are can calibrated with external resistor)
Clock converted to quartz movement. Tachometer upgraded to modern
circuit. No cracks in dash it is original. Electric top works, New
carpet over sound deadening. Interior recovered in vinyl XR7 style.
Front disc /rear drums. Stiffeners added to shock towers and
bracing added to front end. Tail lights sequential control box
upgraded to electronic box. All lights work as they should.
