Vehicle Description
1970 Chevrolet Nova 454, two door. The body and paint are original
except for the fiberglass hood / scoop and front bumper. The body
is in great condition, but not show-car quality. There is some rust
around the stock rear wheel wells and a small dent on left corner
of rear chrome bumper. It has the original door panels, head liner
and dashboard, no rear upholstery, two high - back black
upholstered adjustable front bucket seats. Also equipped with a
custom steering wheel, racing harness, tachometer, temperature
gauge, oil pressure gauge and two fuel pump gauges. It has a
chromoly padded roll-bar, Hurst shifter with lockout, and a custom
column lock. The differential is a GM 12 bolt, 4.11 ratio Strange
posi-traction unit with Strange gears and bearings. The rear end
was strengthen and modified by Snyder Motorsports and secured to
the chassis with two trick multi-leaf springs and Lakewood traction
bars and snubbers. The car has a Chapmann custom fuel tank , and
two individual electric fuel systems, gauges, regulators, filters,
etc. .The NOVA has a brand new heavy duty battery mounted in the
right rear corner of the trunk in a sealed battery box, with a
power cut-off switch. The automatic transmission is a turbo 350
with a 10 inch torque converter ( 3,500 stall ) , trick valve body,
and many other hardcore drivetrain parts, all built by COAN RACING.
The engine is a Chevy 454 , 4 bolt main block, CALLIES forged
steel, cross drilled, and radiused crankshaft. Conn rod bolts are
ARP 7/16 ' , forged Keith Black pistons 10.5:1 compression with a
.030' head gasket, 1/16 Speed Pro Plasma moly file fit piston
rings, and Keith Black conn rods. MANTON lifters and pushrods.
Rotating assembly has been static and dynamic balanced. Chevy ZL1
camshaft kit, .560 / .600 lift, Melling high - volume oil pump,
Moroso deep sump oil pan, with windage tray and pick-up. Cloyes
Tru-Roller timing set, Harland Sharp roller rocker arms. Moroso
aluminum water pump, GM deep groove pulleys, and more
