1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet:
Frame up restoration with new or rebuilt drivetrain, new exhaust, new suspension and brakes, newer paint (2 stage, base/clear) and new interior. No rust and underbody was sprayed with factory correct red iron oxide primer coating. Calypso Coral paint & Vermilion Interior. 428 cobra Jet, 4spd, with very desirable options check the Deluxe Marti report for details. The engine is a Ford 428CJ that is bored .20 over and is professionally built to make aprox 450 HP. The carburetor is a Quick Fuel 750 double pump. Pertronix electronic ignition system. The Ford Top Loader Transmission was custom built, with custom short throw threaded shift rods. Correct Hurst shifter and T- handle. New performance flywheel and clutch assembly. Easy clutch pedal. The rear end is a Ford N case 9" Traction lock with 3.50 gear ratio.large spline axles. The rear end was professionally assembled. New Magnaflow stainless exhaust system. Here is some more information on the engine. The 428 CJ block was freshly bored .20 over, oil gallerys modified & the block was deburred. Probe forged flat top pistons 10 to 1 compression, total seal rings, factory CJ rods were magnafluxed, resized and ARP bolts. The stock crank has been machined & the entire rotating assembly was professionally balanced from the harmonic balancer to the flywheel. The heads are 1969 CJ heads that have had the normal rebuild including valves, seats, guides and surfacing. The engine retains the stock valve train with the addition of Isky double coil valve springs to accommodate the Erson hydraulic flat tappet camshaft (296 duration / 551 lift -3000 to 6000 rpm). The engine was professional assembled by Mark DeGroff's machine shop. The factory intake manifold has been matched to the head ports (FE intake manifolds and heads must meet correctly for the valve covers to line up).
Factory options are power steering, power disc brakes, Sport deck rear seat (folding), 4 speed close ratio manual transmission, 3.50 traction-lok axle ratio, Sport slats, rear deck spoiler, black hood stripe, tinted glass, tachometer. One of one produced with these options and color combinations per the deluxe Marti report included.
The car runs & drives great. Only a couple hundred miles on the drive train since it was built.
