Vehicle Description
This 1972 Chevrolet Camaro offers a high level of road-readiness
combined with its sharp, second-generation look that's draped in
its original color. It's running plenty strong to provide miles and
miles of enjoyment while you ponder the option of either driving it
as is or adding some focused attention on a few areas to bring it
to an entirely new level.
Its appealing Mulsanne blue shade, complemented by a pair of broad
white stripes running the lengths of its hood and deck lid, is the
same color it began life with and it still puts on a strong
showing, with nice, even pigmentation from front to back. Basking
in the sun, this '72 looks particularly sharp. While it sits on
what is largely the same F-body platform as that of its pivotal
predecessor, you can see right away that second generation Camaros
like this one sit lower and wider than their predecessors, with an
almost fastback-like rear roofline that brings to mind its Chevy
teammate, the Corvette. Up front, a fresh looking, deep black
grille with its "SS" badge sits between its wideset headlights -
parting the chrome split bumper that's in excellent condition. The
downward-pointed tailpipes were a winning style element when this
Camaro came out and they still look great now.
The black vinyl interior just beyond the doors presents an
interesting proposition - both the high-backed front bucket seats
and the rear bench in back are clean and comfortable and they sit
over an expanse of black carpeting, so you'll have a very solid
vantage point from which to navigate this classic - but should you
so choose, you could also transform this interior into a top notch
driving environment by installing a new dash pad and refurbishing
the center console. You'll find aftermarket oil pressure and
temperature gauges just below the dash that are both in good
working order, and all control switches and knobs are present and
accounted for, so there's nothing keeping this Chevy classic from
getting out on the road just as soon as you bring it home. In back,
the trunk area looks straight, with a fresh-looking liner covering
its floor and a solid rubber seal sitting under the deck lid to
keep the elements out.
Below the hood, the engine compartment is as clean and tidy as you
could want. A 350 cubic inch V8 sits at its center between the
black inner fenders, sporting a 4-barrel Edelbrock carb and intake
manifold as well as an aftermarket performance cam to up its power
game, as well as a pair of very sharp chrome M/T valve covers. The
engine exhales into a pair of long tube headers, while the 3-speed
automatic transmission sitting just behind helps deliver a
low-effort, high reward driving experience that's also enhanced by
strong wheel response. Unlike so many of its counterparts from the
era, you won't find any steering numbness here - simply put, you
turn and this car abides. Power brakes at all four corners - with
discs in front - deliver fade resistant stops as this vintage
muscle car cruises on its great looking polished wheels with GM
center caps carrying Turbo-Tech G/T radial tires.
