Vehicle Description
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1965 Kaiser Jeep Gladiator
J-200 4x4 pickup truck. Based on the same platform as the Wagoneer,
the pickup truck variant of the SJ ran from 1962 to 1988 - but the
early trucks like this one are the most sought-after due to their
round headlights and distinctive upright grille (known by FSJ
enthusiasts as the Rhino Grille). Finished in forest green with a
grey interior, the paint and body show to a driver standard;
interior of truck bed has been rhino-lined. Very nice bumpers,
chrome, grim, and grille. Interior is spartan, but clean with newer
seat upholstery and door panels. Instrument panel has been restored
and all gauges and lights are working as they should (including the
neutral and 4WD indicators for the transfer case).
Powered by the ground-breaking Jeep Tornado 230 cubic inch straight
six, which was the first-ever US-designed, mass-produced
overhead-camshaft engine (which in this Gladiator is mated to a
four-speed manual transmission). This truck underwent a full
mechanical restoration in 2014 with nearly $10,000 in receipts,
including a full engine rebuild, new clutch, new fuel tank, new
power steering pump, steering box and hoses, shocks, and a full
brake system rebuild including new master cylinder, wheel
cylinders, drums, shoes and lines. New belts, hoses, cooling system
and ignition system (including coil, cap, rotor, points, condenser,
plugs and wires). Basically every drivetrain component has been
rebuilt or replaced.
This Jeep starts, runs and drives beautifully and the four-wheel
drive works properly. Service and restoration records included with
the sale. For more information about this 1965 Jeep Gladiator for
