Vehicle Description
With distinct colors inside & out, correct bucket seat Super Sport
interior, plenty of the right upgrades, this 1965 Chevrolet Impala
SS is a full-size vintage coupe that offers a tempting total
package.
Chevrolet's full-size Impala really looked sleek and striking when
the fourth generation debuted in '65. And this coupe turns it up a
notch. It all starts with the custom application of the black and
white two-tone. The black gives a sleek shine to those Coke bottle
curves, and the white roof draws plenty of attention to the sporty
hardtop profile. Of course, it also takes super-straight sheet
metal for this kind of presentation. All the bright work is correct
from the wraparound bumpers to the full-width grille. You're
looking at a real-deal code-66 Super Sport, so even the fender
badging is correct. The Impala's hallmark three-element taillight
package was one of the boldest ever offered in '65. And with a
coupe this distinctive, it was only natural that they added
something as shiny as the polished 20-inch Ridler wheels.
A red interior seems to be fitting for a true Super Sport machine.
That must be why this is the factory-correct color. The SS package
includes the stylized bucket seats that have a low-back
presentation to give this pillar less hardtop a terrific
uncluttered profile when all the windows are down. In-between is a
bright center console and sporty floor shift. With the door panels,
carpeting, and dash so nicely coordinated in red, this coupe is a
fine place to spend some time. That's a good thing considering the
full-size Impala SS has plenty of room to carry five total in
comfort. This one feels like proper 1960s motoring with the factory
Impala steering wheel, heat/defrost sliders, and large horizontal
speedometer. Even the factory AM radio is still sitting in the
dash.
Lift the hood to see the small block V8 radiating from the engine
bay. The motor is believed to be a 327ci, and it's topped with a
proper Rochester four-barrel carburetor. The V8 looks nice in the
correct orange on the block with shining Edelbrock valve covers and
matching air topper for flair. More than just a good presentation,
it shows all the right signs of good maintenance. So this fires up
nicely, runs smoothly, and has a throaty rumble from dual exhaust.
A cool hardtop coupe like this was built for cruising, so you'll
enjoy features like the Powerglide automatic transmission, power
steering, and the grip of modern performance tires. Plus, you might
have noticed the upgrade to an aluminum radiator. It helps makes
this one a great anytime choice.
This is the full-size classic Chevy with all the right distinction.
