Vehicle Description
This custom 1965 Ford Falcon Futura Sprint is nothing but great
surprises from every angle. Exceptionally shiny on the outside,
amazingly plush on the inside, and a thumping 302 V8 with a
five-speed under the hood just scratches the surface one this
terrific and speedy custom-built classic.
These second-generation Falcons seemed to strike a nice balance
between American flair and European sensibilities, and this one
really turns it up a notch. It starts with an excellent recent
application of British Racing Green Mica borrowed from modern
Jaguars. Of course, those black racing stripes on the hood are pure
American flair. And that custom set of scoops on the fiberglass
hood makes this one look like its much bigger brother - the
race-bred R-code Ford Fairlane. There's plenty of great 60s-style
chrome on the grille and bumpers, but brightwork that everyone will
really be taking a look at are the addition of side pipes (another
indication that this is a serious street machine.) Of course, these
Futuras always looked fast stinging still thanks to the design that
incorporates the full-length accent line. It gives this hardtop the
appeal of an arrow cutting through the wind. And with all this
attractiveness, don't forget that the 1965 Falcon is also a
difficult car to find. The Ford Mustang production was in full
swing by the time this car came around. Consequently, Ford only
sold about 2,800 of these premium Futura Sprint hardtop coupes that
year.
The moment you peek inside of this hardtop, you know they made all
the right investments in the interior. After all, those front
bucket seats with comfortable cloth inserts are a full custom
integration. And not only do they have the kind of modern
bolstering to be all-day comfortable, but also yours even power
adjusts to the ideal position. All the right vintage pieces are in
place, and so you get the ultra-wide speedometer, plenty of bright
trim, and even the AM radio is still on display. Oh yes, that's a
CB you've spotted under the dash, too. But what you'll really love
is how this is a true driver's machine. The sports steering wheel
is grippy, the Hurst shifter is calling out for your right hand,
and the important tach is front and center on the dash.
You can instantly tell the engine bay was built for performance.
The extra tidy setup gives you a clear view at the 302 cubic-inch
V8. It has been enhanced and fortified with Scorpion roller
rockers, Ford Motorsports E303 camshaft, AFR Renegade aluminum
heads, Ford Racing cast valve covers, Holley four-barrel
carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and headers feeding those growling
side pipes. This monster motor has all the right supporting
components - from the full bracing kit to the aluminum radiator
that keeps it all running cool. You have full control over this
monster motor and its thunderous soundtrack thank to the upgrade to
a T5 five-speed manual transmission that's been reinforced with
Ford Motorsports clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel. This feeds a
stout Ford 8-inch rear running versatile 3.50 gears. And because
all this power is nothing without control, you have great features
like traction bars, sways bars front & rear, and slotted & vented
Wilwood disc brakes behind each one of those polished slotted mag
wheels.
This is a serious custom build. We have the receipts and photos to
prove it, but all you really have to do is look at the amazingly
clean undercarriage to understand the level of detail that went
into making this unique coupe. This is the powerful, distinct, and
rare classic you've been waiting for. Don't miss your chance, call
