Plymouth's goal in 1968 was to offer Detroit's biggest bang for the
buck. The new Road Runner, priced at about $2,900, proved to be
just the ticket. Initially based on a bare-bones Belvedere sedan,
this B-body came standard with a 335-horse 383 V-8, a 4-speed stick
and a beefed-up suspension.
The 426 Hemi was an intimidating option, both in price and power.
Adding 425 Hemi horses into the Road Runner equation upped the ante
by about a grand.
This 1968 Road Runner is a true J Code car and has just undergone a
complete ground-up restoration. It has all of it's original metal
and a period correct 426 that has been freshly rebuilt has been
installed with its numbers matching AFB Carbs in order to return
this Road Runner to its factory specs. Full restoration documents
are included along with two original BROADCAST SHEETS.
The 4-Speed Transmission, 3.54 Dana 60 Rear are both original and
numbers matching. Equipped with Power Steering and Power Brakes,
this Road Runner is amazing the drive and looks absolutley stunning
with its Electric Blue Paint and two tone Blue Interior.
