Vehicle Description
Only 2 owners over the past 28 years, and remarkably original
throughout! Highly optioned, 100% numbers matching right down the
Holley carburetor! Factory air conditioning, power steering,
396ci/350 horsepower engine, 4-speed transmission, F40 special
suspension, and 3.31 Posi-Traction rear axle! Two sets of
wheels/tires! One set for showing and the other for cruising!
Excellent investment example! True code 138 Super Sport! In this
model year, the first three numbers of the VIN designate the model.
In this case, all Chevelles in 1967 that start with 138 are Super
Sport models. This is important, because cars can be faked or
cloned to look like an SS, but the code will ensure you are buying
the real deal! Other features of a 1967 Chevelle Super Sport are
rocker moldings, wheel well moldings, chrome louvered hood
ornaments, Super Sport emblems, power brakes with dual reservoir
master cylinder, larger front stabilizer bar, remote power steering
reservoir, 12-bolt rear end, 3 spoke steering wheel, extra
suspension supports, and chrome dash ascents. Outstanding 1967
Chevrolet Chevelle SS396 Sport Coupe finished in factory, Y-code
correct Butternut Yellow over Black bucket seat interior! Options
include factory air conditioning, power steering, F40 heavy duty
suspension providing stiffer springs & front/rear anti-sway bars,
12-bolt rear axle with 3.31 Posi-Traction, Black vinyl roof, center
console with working electric clock, rally instrumentation with
dash blinker-tachometer, day/night rearview mirror, Delco-Chevrolet
pushbutton AM radio, front & rear date-coded seatbelts, and more!
This highly desired 1967 Chevelle Sport Coupe was with the same
Missouri owner from 1990 to 2015 before it would be passed to his
good friend through his surviving widow. It was last restored
cosmetically in approximately 1988 to include new paint & weather
stripping and all new interior upholstery & carpet. Having remained
garage kept and dry, it remains very impressive today! Since 2015,
an upgraded Griffin aluminum radiator replaced the original to
better survive hot summer cruising here in St. Louis. Additionally,
the cold air conditioning system received a brand new evaporator
box inside the dash, R134a conversion, and new blower motor. A new
clutch kit with pressure plate were installed less than 100 miles
ago inside the transmission, along with all brand new brake
cylinders, shoes, turned drums are all four corners along with
fresh brake fluid, and newer exhaust with FlowMaster Super 50
Delta-Flow mufflers. It remains superbly correct with early
original 1967 date-coded 3902406 block, clearly stamped with
production build date of January 4th, 1967. The EF-suffix code
denotes the 396ci/350hp manual transmission designation and
matching VIN stamp of 17K154850. The aluminum case Muncie M20
wide-ratio transmission reads P7T01 confirming 1967 production and
its 12-bolt rear axle is stamped very clearly with CF 0117 B E
indicating a 3.31:1 ratio with an Eaton Posi-Traction. The car was
finished from the Kansas City, MO plant the 5th week of January
1967. Even the Holley carburetor bears the correct 3908957
designation with late October 1966 date code. T3 headlamps are
present, GM hoses with proper tower clamps, and a largely untouched
engine compartment round out a superbly original and solid example!
This Chevelle is coming with a set of 15 American Racing
TorqueThrust wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A 215/70R15
tires, along with its original color-matched 14 steel wheels
wrapped in period correct Firestone Super Sport Wide Oval F70-14
redline tires giving the owner a great choice of appearance and
road manners! It is an awesome example showcasing a terrific older
restoration, in outstanding driving condition with excellent road
manners! Please call with additional questions or schedule a chance
to review in person. Thanks for looking!
