The 1955-1957 Chevrolet's are truly a golden era of styling at
General Motors. With great lines and V-8 power, these shoeboxes
dominated the sedan market in the mid-fifties. Now, some sixty
years later, they are still the most sought after coupes and sedans
from their time. This particular 55' is one truly awesome
automobile. Under the hood is a 355 CI small block Chevrolet with a
big four barrel carburetor pushing fuel down into a B&M
supercharger. All this supercharged horsepower is routed through a
Turbo 400 three speed automatic transmission and funneled back to a
narrowed rear differential with 4.11:1 gears and positraction.
Making this small block look as good as it runs are an Edelbrock
open flow air cleaner, custom Moroso valve covers, and braided fuel
and coolant lines. Sounds are courtesy of full length headers, high
flow mufflers, and shortened pipes. This shoe box sounds every bit
as mean as it looks. The suspension on this classic American beast
has also been completely reworked. The front of the car has been
lowered approximately three inches while the rear of the car has
been "back halved" and tubbed to fit 33"x21.5" Mickey Thompson
tires on 15" Weld aluminum wheels. Rear suspension features coil
over shocks and stabilizers and is completely adjustable. On the
outside, this beauty is painted in a flawless two tone of seafoam
green over a pure white. The fit and finish of all body panels is
without reproach, and the doors close with ease and perfect panel
gaps. It is a truly an awesome sight to behold. The inside is just
as unique and well done as the exterior. Green tweed upholstery
covers two bucket seats, the carpets, and the headliner. The
dashboard and roll cage are painted to match, and there are racing
harnesses for when you decide to hit the track. There is a radio,
but why would you need it when you have that wonderful engine to
listen to? This is truly a multi purpose classic. You can show it,
you can race it, and you can cruise the boulevard on a Saturday
night with it. If you're in the market for a truly amazing,
gorgeously well done, classic Chevrolet, then the search stops
here!! Email Brian at
