This Thunderbird convertible has the full Sport Roadster package.
The car is in really excellent condition too. Claimed to have
27,545 actual miles.
EXTERIOR: What a sleak design to begin with and this one has the
roadster option too make it even sleaker. The package includes a
lightweight fiberglass tonneau cover that easily transforms it from
a 4 passenger convertible to a 2 person speedster, Kelsey Hayes
wire wheels with spinners and elimination of fender skirts. The
body fits exceptionally well. The gaps around doors, trunk, fenders
are right on the money. Even the windows fit the top really well.
Paint is polished to a smooth gloss. Upfront the chrome is all
beautiful, bright and shiny. The moldings running front to back are
straight and polished. Chrome in back is all excellent condition,
tail lights look new. Convertible top is black, no tears or
wrinkles.
INTERIOR: Very nice inside. The seat cushions are firm so the
upholstery fits tight. It has the Thunderbird chrome logos in the
seats and the chrome piping. The door panels look virtually new,
steering wheel, instrument area is also mint. Has rare Am-FM radio.
Carpets are mint, has a new set of reproduction Thunderbird floor
mats. Also has seatbelts. Unique features are the swing away
steering wheel, a sporty console and bucket seats. The tonneau
cover does not interfere with the convertible. The power windows
are nice too, otherwise you would need to reach under the tonneau
to roll rear windows down.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Show quality. The engine bay and underside of
hood is painted. Motor is clean, valve covers,and air cleaner ate
painted. It is detailed out with propper decals, Ford hose and
clamps etc.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Show quality. The compartment and bottom of
trunk lid is painted. The motors, cables, rubber is all detailed.
Has full liner kit.
UNDERSIDE: Bottom of motor and the trans look clean. Shocks, ball
joints, exhaust look new.
Putting the top down always attracts attention. The way the lids
open and top folds away is impressive on a car of this age. It was
a car ahead of it's time and really nothing else compares to it.
Today owning one is special, especially in this condition!
