Without a doubt this 1956 Ford F-100 big window has to be one of
our favorite trucks that we have seen roll through the doors
lately. Beyond the obvious stand out color of plum crazy purple
borrowed from the hallowed Mopar line of colors, this F100 is very
well sorted out and carries with it a ton of the creature comforts
we've come to know and love. A simple glance over and you'll reveal
a ridiculously straight body, V8 power under the hood, gorgeous tan
interior and options like power steering, power brakes, over drive
automatic transmission and ice cold air conditioning.
A lot of people forget just how rare a '56 Ford "big window" is,
over 137,000 F-100's were produced in 1956. Of those only 6,200
were big windows.That's right less than 4.5% left the factory with
the desirable rear window. The recipient of a professional plum
crazy purple paint job, today the body looks near flawless. Out
back you'll find a new custom Oak bed that is 2" wider than the
original bed. Some custom touches were done also especially in the
rear where you'll see the 6" LED vertical strip brake lights, turn
signals and tail lights. The look is finished off with the 17"
chrome wheels that have been wrapped in new rubber.
Flip forward the custom front tilt hood and you'll unveil a new ZZ5
350 V8 crate engine with 400hp. The engine bay is detailed out very
nicely and includes amenities like Power Steering, Power Brakes,
A/C and inside the interior you'll see a working cruise control!
All that power is sent to a new 700R4 transmission that's perfect
for highway cruising. Power is transferred to the rear wheels
thanks to a Ford 9" with 3.50 posi gears. At 70mph, you'll barely
be turning 2150rpms! The ride is amazing down the road thanks to a
mustang II front coil-over suspension and a 4-link coil-over rear
suspension.
Pop open the doors and you'll see the modern theme continues thanks
to a new tan interior. The bench seat has been covered in tan vinyl
and in front of it you'll find a ididit tilt column, dakota digital
VHX dash gauges and new glass and weatherstripping. With less than
3500 miles on the engine, this is a great place to log miles
from!
