Vehicle Description
This car is a spectacularly careful recreation of one of the iconic
muscle cars of the 1960s, the Oldsmobile 442.
A total nut and bolt, frame off restoration was completed just five
years ago. Since that total rebuild this car has only been driven
some 250 miles.
It was a total rebuild since the owner replaced the frame with a
new power coated frame. At the same time the engine was totally
redone with a Ram Rod 350 intake added to the 350 cu. in. engine
which had been brought up to 442 specification with new carb,
headers and camshaft. The transmission is a floor mounted
automatic.
This car comes with power brakes, power steering, power top and air
conditioning.
In addition to mechanical upgrades this restoration included a new
dashboard, new fabric on the seats and floor and a new white
convertible top. Dual 442 style air ducts were added under the
front bumper of the car. The wheel wells are red composite which
was part of the W-30 package.
It is painted a deep blue known as Nocturne Blue and the bodywork
including the chrome is in remarkable condition. The interior is
white with bucket seats in front.
This car was originally a Cutlass S model and rebadged as a 442
much as the original 4-4-2 was created from the Cutlass model in
1964 by Olds to compete with the highly successful Pontiac GTO. At
that time the car was also brought up mechanically to 442
specifications.
Unbelievably clean this Olds 442 is a real beauty and an excellent
opportunity to own a real muscle car.
