Vehicle Description
The classic car world is full of fun creations with wild paint
schemes, extreme drivetrains and artful interiors. While those cars
are awesome to look at, 10-minute start-up procedures and blind
hunts for kill switches and accessory controls frustrate even the
most enthusiastic gearhead. Anyone who's spent time around the
collector car hobby will agree there's truly something special
about owning a well-built cruiser that's comfortable and easy to
live with. And this superb Ford roadster is just that - a
completely functional vehicle that's wrapped in killer hot rod
styling. With proven Ford power, a smooth 4-speed and modern air
conditioning, this classic was built to be driven. And if you're
tired of superficial classics that emphasize appearance over
practicality, it's the real deal retro relic you've been longing
for!
ALL-STEEL, ALL STYLE
Built to be cruised, this top-notch Ford is constructed from a
solid foundation of professionally shaped steel. Precision stamping
resulted in a durable and authentic custom that, in addition to
requiring minimal paint prep, retains all its original lines,
functional parts and structural integrity. It seems only natural
then, that this Roadster's stunning panels display smooth vertical
planes and an arrow-straight profile that would give any
high-dollar garage queen a serious run for its money. And, since a
profile that nice deserves to be seen and celebrated, it wears deep
black 2-stage that's somehow delightfully fresh while being
decidedly vintage.
At the front of that pigment, color-keyed frame horns hang a
painted spreader beneath polished headlights, a polished grille and
a shaved grille shell. Behind that shell, a 3-piece hood runs
staggered louvers toward a 3-inch chopped windshield, which plants
a polished frame behind a small driver's mirror. Above that tinted
screen, lift-off canvas centers a glass backlite over a shaved
trunk lid. And at the bottom of that deck, LED taillights
illuminate a second painted spreader, a body-matched fuel tank and
a polished, "V8" branded fuel cap.
POWER BY FORD
In some enthusiast's minds, there's nothing worse than finding a
stylish Ford hot rod only to tilt the hood and discover something
akin to a generic Chevrolet small block. With that in mind, the
builders equipped this Roadster with 351 cubic inches of proven
Ford power that mixes great looks with solid performance. At the
top of that monochromatic mill, an Edelbrock Performer intake
stacks a body-matched batwing air cleaner on a coated Edelbrock
carburetor that's finished with a quality Lokar throttle linkage.
That intake pushes fresh air and rich fossils through cast Ford
heads, which cap polished Ford Racing valve covers with polished
Edelbrock breathers. At the front of those heads, a hot MSD
distributor sequences spark between an MSD Blaster SS coil and
loomed Taylor Spiro Pro plug wires. At the base of that
distributor, Concept One serpentine components spin a polished
alternator above a polished AC compressor and a coated fuel pump.
Coated block hugger headers shuffle spent gases through 2.5-inch
stainless pipes. And in front of those tubes, a beefy radiator
features a polished expansion tank and a big Maradyne puller
fan.
GOOD BONES
Under this impressive custom, a tough 4-speed automatically spins
power to a requisite Ford 9-inch, which wraps an aluminum Currie
center-section around 3.25 gears and a limited-slip differential.
That drivetrain pushes a 4-link rear-clip that's dampered with
efficient Aldan coil-over-shocks. Opposite that 4-link, traditional
wishbones frame a traditionally sprung axle, which is capped with
polished Pete and Jakes shocks. That suspension rolls under a
modern chassis, which seats a quartet of drilled and slotted discs
in tight Wilwood calipers. A high-octane soundtrack is provided by
throaty Xlerator Turbo Mufflers. At the corners of the car, flashy
Boyd Coddington blades spin 215/50ZR17 Toyo Proxes in front of
265/50R20 Toyo Proxes. And everything, from this Ford's finned
transmission cooler to its quality Goodridge brake lines, is clean,
sorted and ready to rumble!
SIMPLE IS GOOD
Inside this awesome Roadster, class is the name of the game as
tasteful Tan leather creates a stylish complement to the car's rich
paint. Pop the doors and you'll find an adjustable TEA'S Design
seat. At the sides of that bench, chrome-piped panels hang stark
black accents below polished handles. Below those panels,
Bentley-style carpet floats piped floor mats around polished
pedals, a polished emergency brake and a tall Lokar shifter. At the
front of that carpet, a billet-faced dash pipes modern air
conditioning around classy Auto Meter telemetry. And in front of
the driver, a polished and leather-wrapped steering wheel laps a
polished, tilting column that's paired with an Auto Meter Knee
Knocker Tach.
This fully sorted Ford is a wonderful classic to drive, enjoy and
turn a few heads in. It's really no surprise that these cars are
amazingly popular with almost everyone who sees them, because they
mix distinctly American style with a great ownership experience.
So, what are you waiting for? Grab the phone, park this roadster in
your garage and get ready for years of carefree cruising!
