For Sale: 1973 Chevrolet Corvette in Cincinnati, Oh

Vehicle Description

Seven Hills Motorcars is proud to offer this beautiful numbers matching 1973 Corvette Stingray Convertible in spectacular original condition and with ONLY 22,280 original miles and a 4-Speed manual transmission. This Corvette looks fantastic, runs great, and is an excellent driver. It is exceptionally rare to find a Corvette from this era with original mileage this low. This Stingray would be an excellent candidate for a National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS) Bowtie Preservation award or a Bloomington Survivor Certification, which are awarded to unrestored and unmolested Corvettes for originality and conservation. It is by far one of the best and nicest 1973 Corvettes on the market and truly an investment grade classic car.

The Blue-Green over Dark Saddle Vinyl is one of the most striking and desirable color combinations available. It is also the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the trim tag, which is pictured below. Blue-Green is a very unique and rare color that really stand out. This Stingray gets complements whenever it is out. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Corvette that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as the market on C3 Corvettes is strong right now and on the rise and 1973 is a special year. The low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title showing the mileage as "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos, the extensive list of numbers, video, and information below to get a true sense of how nice and clean this Corvette really is.

This Corvette is completely "Numbers Matching" and literally every part we checked on the car is correct with the proper part numbers and appropriate date codes. We have run the numbers on hundreds of Corvettes over the years and there are very few that are so correct and original. Even very detailed parts like the starter, alternator, the wheels, and even the date codes on all the glass are correct. The last six digits of the VIN are stamped on the engine pad, which is pictured below, and the engine is original to the car. The transmission is also original with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the main case and pictured below. All of the paint and trim codes are also correct for this Stingray.

According to the previous owner this Corvette has had only two owners since then. The first owner had the car from 1972 to 1980. We purchased the car from the second owner who owner it for 38 years. We have a copy of the original title from 1980 to verify that portion of the ownership history. Also included with the car is some original documentation including the original owners manual, warranty booklet showing the original owner's name, 1973 Chevrolet Consumer Information booklet, Chevrolet maintenance schedule, Emission Control Systems, Firestone Tire booklet, and wheel trim instruction sheet.

As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle.  We hand pick each car after careful inspection.  Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.  We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected.  Please take the time to scrutinize each picture.  We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase.  If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.

Interior

The Dark Saddle Vinyl interior in this Corvette is in outstanding condition and is totally original. The seats are in excellent shape and look just in person as the do in the photos with no excessive wear. Please note that these are the original seats and skins, not some cheap aftermarket covers or replacements. They do have the typical dry foam. The carpet is also in fantastic original condition with no holes or rips. This includes the rear carpet, which is often neglected. The carpet is also original. The gauge faces are clean and crisp and the gauge lenses are crystal clear. The door panels are in excellent shape. The door pulls are solid and intact. The dash and console look great with no cracks or sun fading. The original AM/FM radio works and actually gets decent reception. Most importantly the dash has never cut or modified for an aftermarket installation. The jack is still with the car and pictured below showing the original decals on the compartment lid. The spare is also still with the car. This Corvette has never been smoked in; there are no burns marks and no aroma of cigarettes. Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well, and the excellent condition of this original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its life and another great verification of the low original mileage.

The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Mechanical

This Corvette seems to be in good mechanical condition. The Stingray starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smooth. It drives great and feels nice on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no vibrations or strange noises and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The shifter is tight, the transmission does not pop out of gear, and the clutch feels good. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, detailed, and correct with the original upper and lower ignition shielding.

The radio works as do all the exterior lights, wipers, indicators, and horn. The blower works on all speeds. Even very detailed items like the seat belt warning buzzer work as one can see in the video. The vacuum system for the headlights works correctly with no effort or binding in the mechanism. Also, the headlights go up properly with either the headlight switch or vacuum override switch. Their complete operation form both switches can be viewed in the video below. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the 4-Speed transmission and the T-tops out on a beautiful day.

The car runs and drives as well as it looks.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1973 Corvette Convertilbe is in exceptional original condition. Any classic car can be restored, but a vehicle is only original once and originally cannot be reproduced. Low mileage examples in this year range are very rare and draw a huge premium over a standard Corvette. Numbers matching is very important in Corvette pricing and as one can see this car is very correct. It is a great value and we have it priced to sell. The value of third generation Corvettes has increased dramatically in recent times, this is especially true for the 1973 model year. They are solid and wise investments for a collector. 1973 was a very special and one year only body style for Corvette that is always recognizable with the newer front end treatment and the classic chrome bumpers on the back. There are photos below of the VIN stamp on the engine block, suffix code, engine assembly date, transmission VIN stamp, transmission date, and transmission codes. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
