Vehicle Description
The 2017 GT350R, like the original GT350R unleashed by Carroll
Shelby onto the racing world in 1965, is a hardcore and limited
production version of the base GT350. GT350R production in 2016 was
limited to only 526 GT350Rs, making them an instant collectible
with enthusiasts and collectors alike clamoring to get their hands
on one. 2017 GT350R should be around the same number. The 350R
features the same 5.2-liter "Voodoo" flat-plane crank V8 from the
GT350 producing 526 horsepower and 429 ft/lb of torque. Items such
as air conditioning, stereo, trunk floorboard, rear seats, and the
backup camera have been removed. The GT350R became the first
production vehicle to feature carbon-fiber wheels that each weigh
approximately 15 pounds less than the aluminum wheels on the
standard GT350. Overall, the GT350R is 130 lb (59 kg) lighter than
the GT350. A larger splitter and rear wing help improve downforce,
with the wing drawing the car's weight balance more rearwards. A
Torsen limited-slip differential with a 3:73 axle ratio helps
improve handling further.
Chassis "HR536" has traveled just over 300 miles since new.
