For Sale: 1963 Ford Falcon in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

Very rare Sprint convertible, probably the sportiest of all the Falcons. They were even hard to come by when they were new! Known as 63 1/2s because they didn't start production until mid year. The Sprint package included a V-8 motor, a little beefier suspension, unique exterior trim and inside it included a tachometer, bucket seats with console and a wood grained steering wheel that says Sprint in the horn button. This one is exceptionally handsome too. The colors, wheels and cloth top are very rich looking. It won an AACA national first prize in 1988 and has been restored and maintained as needed to keep it in top shape. Shipped to us from a collector in Florida along with his Mustang and T-bird. He has always had nice cars.

EXTERIOR: What a handsome car. Very nice lines, curves and dimensions. This one has a fantastic body. It is straight with tight body gaps. Paint is gorgeous. It's not a muddy burgundy, it has plenty of pop. The metal flake is laid out evenly and the clear finish is polished like glass. Chrome and trim are bright. Bumpers, fender spears, side moldings, mirror, handles, trunk lock all look new. Upgraded chrome GT wheels with color matched inserts and new tires. Another wonderful upgrade is the burgundy German cloth top.

INTERIOR: Inside the car is in excellent shape. I open the door and the interior lights work. The cushions have been replaced so the upholstery fits tight. Has the cool chrome piping in the seats too. Door panels look new, has the chrome foil trim. Has a chrome console in between the seats with the original owner's manual inside. Nice, clean dash area. Dash pad is mint, has original Sprint tachometer. There is also a factory clock which must be rare because I don't remember seeing another one. The plastic wood grained steering wheel is excellent, no cracks. A stereo is neatly tucked under the dash and has aftermarket kick panels with speakers molded in.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Very tidy, proper and clean. There's a Sprint 260 V-8 dressed with original chrome valve covers and air cleaner. It is upgraded with a Durashine intake and plated Holley 4 barrel carb. Has power steering and the pump has a chromed top. There is also an aluminum support brace. The engine bay is clean, smooth metal painted satin black and has original Vin stamp.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It's clean, has mat and spare with cover..

UNDERSIDE: Looks rock solid. Frame rails, seams and welds look factory original. Has a nice Flowmaster dual exhaust system. Upgraded with front and rear sway bars. Springs, shocks, ball joints look replaced.
