Vehicle Description
In the market for a fully restored classic short bed pickup truck?
You definitely need to take a closer look at this very well done
1971 Ford F-100! Starting off its life here in Colorado this truck
was loved and cared for over many years, and once the current owner
got their hands on it, this truck received a complete frame-off
restoration. The concept was to build a truck that would be able to
do both long cruises while not becoming a boring daily driver. The
drivetrain chosen for this truck was a stroked 351 Windsor that
dyno'd around 450 horsepower and 500 ft/lbs. of torque! This
powerhouse of an engine would surely be plenty to get this truck
going in a hurry so to not lose the drivability that was desired,
it was backed up by a Keisler 5-speed manual transmission with a
hydraulic clutch giving you an overdrive gear and keeping the fun
factor at an all time high. What good is all of this power though
if the rear end of the truck cannot handle it? To make sure this
wouldn't be an issue the strong Ford 9" rear end was equipped with
Moser 31-spline axles and a true track locking differential. This
drivetrain overall will hold up well to the power that is being put
out by the engine without sacrificing any reliability. Helping the
truck to handle as well as they'd hope, the front end had a Rod &
Custom Mustang II front suspension put underneath and the rear of
the truck was lowered to give it that great rake. Power rack and
pinion steering and power brakes allow excellent control of the
truck and make it simple to take on long cruises. Also adding to
the comfort is a set of modern F-150 bucket seats and a center
council that not only fit great, but also are extraordinarily
comfortable to ride in. The aftermarket AM/FM radio in the truck
will allow you to listen to your favorite tunes throughout your
drive. The body and paint on this truck are also very well done
with a gorgeous blue paint that was laid over the top of the
cleaned up body. All of the side moldings removed, seams welded and
flushed, and the locking tailgate flushed really add to the clean
look of this F-100. If you are looking for a truck that is going to
be a great mix of performance and drivability, this is an excellent
option!
