Vehicle Description
There's no denying the desirability of a C2 corvette. For many of
the Corvette faithful, these mid-year corvettes present just the
best styling and design ques that are lacking on anything older
than 1967. For many,1967 is the pennacle year that everything was
just right on it. However, for others it doesn't get any better
than the mid-year arrival of Chevrolet's first big block corvette -
the 396/425hp L78 option introduced in the middle of the 1965 model
year.
This gorgeous Nassau blue 1965 Chevrolet Corvette was believed to
start life as a real L78 before the original engine was replaced in
the early 70s. Today it has seen a full restoration down to a
period correct 3855962 casting block built to 425hp specs with some
tasteful upgrades like a HEI distributor and a MSD Fuel Injection.
The car also includes the original L78 carburetor, original
radiator and original distributor.
The body is covered in the correct Nassau Blue (FF code) blue
paint. Fully restored in the early 2000s, today the car shows very
well. It's clear that someone knew what they were doing when they
painted it because it stands tall today. The only blemishes it has
is from your typical road use, ultimately this car's body and paint
is something you would be proud to show at a local car show or
cruise in.
The interior is in great shape and feature a lot of the original
components including the original teakwood steering wheel and
original gauges. The seats and dash show little to no wear and are
in great shape. Like a lot of original L78's this left the factory
without the horsepower robbing power steering and a factory radio
delete. In the engine bay you'll find the original transistor
ignition, upgraded radiator and factory big block hood. The 15"
torqueflight wheels add to the overall look of the old-school
racer.
Underneath you'll find just a true honest car that isn't hiding
anything. If you are looking for a good driver that can be taken
anywhere or taken to the next level with power steering and A/C.
