Vehicle Description
1980 Fiat Spider 2000
Carrozzeria Pininfarina, an Italian car body design firm, put
pencil to paper and created the original Spider design in 1966. As
the car and design evolved, a 2.0 Liter engine made its way into
the 1980 Model year and was marketed as the Spider 2000. A small
but nimble sports car was meant to compete with the likes of
Triumph and MG, and this is evident in the look of the car, being
an amalgamation between the 3 car companies.
This 1980 Fiat Spider 2000 shows 81,415 miles and appears in fair
condition. There is no rust, or known mechanical problems, and
exterior paint shows some cracking and crazing. Interior presents
in good condition and shows little wear. The engine runs well, and
overall the car is a nice 1980's sports car that could be a daily
driver.
Exterior
Fiat 449 denoted as Dark Blue adorns the exterior surfaces. There
is some blemishing, cracking, and crazing in this original paint,
but no rust what so ever. All exterior chrome and lighting are in
good condition, as well as the tan convertible top, which is very
simple to put up and down. A chrome luggage rack covers the trunk
area and is in good condition.
Interior
Interior features blue leather bucket seats, blue pile carpeting, a
black vinyl dash framing a walnut veneer dashboard. Anodized
aluminum blue rings surround all instruments, and a blue center
console houses various climate controls, as well as a handbrake. An
aftermarket Kenwood AM/FM stereo with a cassette player is mounted
seamlessly into the dash.
Drivetrain
A Lampredi I4 fuel-injected aluminum head with cast iron block
powers this sports car down a quarter mile in 10.2 seconds and
produces approximately 105hp. A 5-speed manual transmission allows
the driver to experience the melodious tune of the exhaust as they
go through the gears, that is quintessential Fiat 4-cylinder. Disc
brakes all around, rear suspension featuring live axle, trailing
arm, hydraulic shocks with anti-roll bar, and front suspension
independent upper/lower A-arms with anti-roll bar.
A 1980 Spider 2000 is literally a consignment that can be driven
out of the showroom and enjoyed immediately. Handling, performance,
and the wind in your hair, will give you the satisfaction you are
in an Italian sports car, and loving it!
